be somewhat critical of players for UAPB taking shots they shouldn't have been taking. That might be, but if you noticed, they were relentless rebounders and came up with a lot of rebounds that gave them chances for put backs or more attempts.

My theory, flawed though it might be, has always been that if you shoot the ball, even a bad shot, you have a better chance of scoring then if you don't shoot the ball and wait around for a better shot. Many times you don't get a better shot. And if you miss, one of your inside players should have a chance for a put back. The more times you try to force the ball inside, the more chances you have of getting it picked off without your getting off a shot.

I'm normally not enamored as much with defense as some because it's not as glamourous as offense, but the defense UAPB plays reminds me a little of the old Nolan Richardson days at Arkansas. Scrambling around, disrupting passing lanes and getting steals. The UAPB coach comes from the same coaching tree as Nolan. It goes back to Don Haskins at UTEP. You can see the similarities. I like it.04-cheers
