Saturday, NC State will be the 9th school to play at Bartow who has won a national championship. Who are the other eight?

Edit: I thought this would be easy until I looked it up and realized there were more than I though. Let's see who can get them anyway.
Texas Western

Arkansas

Cincy

Louisville

Marquette

Oklahoma A&M

Villanova

Wyoming
I think. Or did we play Villanova at the Civic Center?

We have also played Indiana there, but not Bartow.
Villanova wasn't at Bartow. It was at BJCC. Of course Texas Western is UTEP and Oklahoma A&M is Oklahoma State. You have seven of the eight right (did you get them from memory or look it up). And Villanova was close.
Memory. Did LaSalle win one in the dawn times?

Have no idea what I had for breakfast or how many children I have.

Yep.

LaSalle won the National championship in 1954.
Have we played NCSU before at all? I have a vague memory that says yes.
No. Never played them before. But Jim Valvano brought an Iona team to a UAB Classic tournament in 1980. UAB didn't play them since they lost in the first round.
DePaul

Jim Valvano brought an Iona team to Birmingham and UAB lost to them on 1/12/80, but not in the UAB Classic.
.
From the DePaul website:

"In his 42 years as head coach of DePaul, from 1942 to 1984, the late Ray Meyer compiled a record of 724-354 (.671). Thirteen of his teams advanced to the NCAA Tournament, and seven of his squads played in the National Invitational Tournament (NIT). His 1943 and 1979 teams advanced to the NCAA Final Four, while his 1945 team, featuring future Hall-of-Famer Mikan, won the NIT when it was considered the national championship."

You're right. I was thinking of someone else. That was a very good Iona team.

And the UAT website will tell you that Alabama has 13 national championships. Doesn't make it true.
