The good news is that the MAC is prominently featured in one of the most widely read news dailys in the U.S. today with full page end of section coverage in The Wall Street Journal.

The bad news is that it's this article.

The Little Conference That Can't
Nice picture.
I didn't want to be the one to post it...
Maybe it is because the MAC is down to the minimum in the number of sports they participate in???

Those sports are mostly the big ones....
We're "The Little Conference That Can't" because that phfucking b!tch, Lucy (BCS), keeps pulling the ball away just before Charlie, kicks the ball!
The article states that technically the hockey championships don't count, but then goes on to mention Miami hockey several times in the article. Also it doesn't take into account individual NC in sports like wrestling where CMU has had some NCs. Not to mention that if the wrestling team championship wasn't the dumbest format of any sport (including the BCS system) CMU probably could have won a championship already. CMU is consistently one of the best duel teams in the country, but because the TEAM is strong from top to bottom, rather than having 3 or 4 guys who are #1 or #2 in the country in their weight class we don't stand a chance at winning a NC.
That article didn't bother me.

In some respects the MAC is closer then the average WSJ reader would appreciate.

How many knew that Akron was one goal from being NC in soccer?

How close in hockey?
Quote:But the MAC's dozen full-time members—midsize, mostly Midwestern colleges like Ball State, Toledo and Northern Illinois—are in the middle of a dry spell that nobody can explain.

Nobody can explain? I think even the most casual fan of a MAC school could explain it......

No hockey in the MAC.

+1
That was the most frightening comment to me, too.
