What on earth is costing Marquette $10.3 million per year? The last I read, they had a pretty favorable agreement with the Bucks to rent their arena ($20K per game).

They probably run most of the athletic department through the basketball program. They also operate a 4000+ seat arena/practice facility, with almost no income. Buzz and his staff are fairly well compensated. It adds up.

If they include the cost of scholarships then you know private schools would have a larger bill there

Yes, I'm sure those figures include the price of scholarships. Although if the athlete is out-of-state, some of the state schools costs of scholarships are nearly as high as some privates.

With that in mind, Louisville very rarely has in-state players under Pitino. I'm guessing most of the other top public schools are the same.

Marquette doesnt have to spend $$$ on hockey,football, baseball or lax. BB is the primary expense (and revenue)
