=>Ben raped me too.

Kurt Warner is that you?
Long ago I used to knee-jerk blame the athlete/celebrity. But these guys are walking bags of money, and there's always the chance of false accusation by someone hoping to win the she-said, he-said argument (and, thus, get a nice fat settlement). So I'm often left wondering who's really telling the truth here.

Still, the fact that this is Ben's second accusation doesn't bode too well for him.

=>Third accusation. He raped me too.
Getting knocked up or getting a settlement from a wealthy person is the new welfare system in this country. Since people can only collect welfare for two years, child support has become the next get paid scheme. If that doesn't work them making an accusation to get an out of court settlement is plan B. These girls slept with Tiger to get their hands on his money. Rothlesburger is the same deal. Granted these celebreties need to be smarter.
(sighs)

Tiger didn't give any of those women any money. Surely you must have picked up on that in the nonstop coverage. Part of the reason he got caught was because he's so cheap.

YEah, I work with a lot of people on Welfare and its just disgusting to see them living free and easy in their rat-trap houses that are totally neglected by landlords and down at the local market trying to decide whether to get spend their last three dollars of food stamps for free formula for their baby or free meat so their other kids can have a little protein.

And now all the people who were on welfare are sleeping with celebrities and just rolling in it. Like that huge bestseller that came out about the Colorado woman who was with Bryant and all the books by Wade Boggs' mistresses. Its just sickening to see these women make out like bandits after all the hard work that these guys put in learning to throw a ball.

It couldn't possibly be a case where another ego inflated athlete thinks that the world is there for them to take what they want, when they want, and the rest of us should just keep the hell out of their affairs! Maybe Ben should rethink his social life.03-idea

Don't want anyone to think I'm condeming BR, don't know him or much about him. I'm just saying its not really unusual for big, strong, young guys with money and status to attract women who are attracted to the person, not the $. The opposite is true as well-

On the other hand this stuff sure seems to follow certain guys around like a fog.
H2Oville... Not to speak for Bobcat, but I didn't interpret his post to literally mean that it's a welfare system or the only ones out to shake down celebrities for money/exposure are welfare recipients. Sounds more like he was using hyperbole.

Yes, but the overall point is still valid, though. Were these mistresses really "in love" with Tiger, or want potential access to 15 minutes of fame (sort of like the women on the Bachelor)? Cover of Us Magazine, talk show circuit, a contestent on some reality show, a book deal, etc, are juicy incentives.

As far as Big Ben... I understand that he could be guilty. Wouldn't 'shock' me if he was, especially since this is now TWO times for Ben... pretty damning. And even if he didn't, he's got to change up his lifestyle anyhow. He can go out, have a couple drinks, and get any consensual one-night-stands he wants. But he needs to tone down getting drunk and partying like an unhinged frat boy. The motorcycle incident mentioned in the ESPN article also indicates he's got further maturing to do.

That said, it's easy to want to tear down a celebrity because they are living the every-man's-dream fantasy life. But I've read enough cases to make me wait to see what all shakes out...

Nope. Bled to death (but, not before filing a class-action civil suit).
I don't really know what the truth is here. I was around him enough in his 4 years at Miami that I have a certain impression of him. He was bit of an individualist/rebel, super competitive in anything he did, just a little reckless on and off the field. He was raised in a very nice family, small town, his Mom was a teacher. He was polite and new how to handle himself in various situations. As far as girls, he never seemed to have a regular girlfriend ( he did date Heather Cusick, one of Miami's alltime best female basketball players, for awhile), but was often uptown in the bars meeting/picking up girls in the offseason. I had a picture of Ben and me hanging in my classroom the last 3 years before retirement. I remember when I had it taken I told Ben I was putting it up in my classroom and I expected him to live up to that. He did not say anything to that comment. If I was still teaching, I certainly would not have it up now. He is definitely guilty of some bad judgement, whether or not it is more than that is hard to figure out at this point.
It says that she slipped and fell. What did she slip on? Hmm.
