UAB and Memphis are now listed on Lunardi's last four IN 02-13-banana

Apparently some losses today pushed us on the other side of the bubble.
Just need to WIN. GO BLAZERS! :D
i posted this the same time u did i saw that and started yelling and my grandparents started yelling too when they saw that he had us in at the moment
While it is nice, Lunardi's opinion really means nothing.
Need a win tonight big-time. A loss doesn't necessarily doom us (unless we get crushed), but a win gives us certainly a bit more breathing room.
A win tonight will weigh a helluva lot more than Lunardi's opinion.
lunardi have a lot of influence on the committe
Most of the people on the committe don't have basketball background but they have espn on the background
he miss one team in 2 years
Not just influence from him, but in terms of publicity and recognition.
Palm and Lunardi and everyone else claims to only miss one or two teams every year. If I sat down on Selection Sunday and made picks, I could be one or two teams off as well. That means nothing. The guys on the committee may not have basketball backgrounds in that they were basketball coaches, but they are athletic directors and weren't just thrown on the committee the day before selection Sunday. They have been watching games all years. They can tell who wins and who doesn't and how good teams are. Given the state of big time basketball, I think it is to our advantage that there arent' "basketball people" on the committee.

Lunardi is important only because he has the ESPN publicity machine behind him. It doesn't make his opinions any more right.
Hate to admit but Joe is HARDLY ever wrong, so I do like being on his good side. The bubble games have been very kind to us today. Big losses for Uconn, Miss St, Rhode Islad, and others. Lest take care of business onight. It might actually be possible for 3 cusa teams to get in. outside chance but a chance atleast.
If we win tonight we'll be even further on the right side of the bubble. If we lose we'll be back on the wrong side.

True and Memphis and UAB will likely play again. It will probably be a winner makes the tourney. Loser goes to the NIT.
Knowing that Lunardi would not be doing us favors by putting us in, its must says something about the resume.

dont be ridiculous...im sure we'll lose in the quarter finals, memphis will get pounded by some awful team in the semis and c-usa will be a one bidder again...
im now done with the debbie downer moments until tipoff
A road win against the CUSA regular season champ will be HUGE if it happens. They have a great homecourt advantage.

However, how many games do you think these folks have seen outside of the "Big 6?" Not many cause with RARE exceptions, non-Big 6 teams don't get much, if any, airtime on national tv (and I mean REAL national, not this CSTV, CSS, etc. crap).

They should be forced to not be able to see the names of the teams on the bubble when selecting and base it ONLY on records, stats, etc. Like it or not but brand bias plays a HUGE part no matter what they say. They aren't just selecting teams, they are selecting teams that will not only bring fans but fans who will actually tune in either on tv or online.
A win would have put us on the right side, but a close loss is still damning.

We now have to win the C*USA tournament. Going 1-5 against the Top 4 does not get you in.
