Toledo did what a number of MAC teams failed to accomplish at Central Michigan's Rose Arena this season: They won a basketball game against the Chippewa women.

The Rockets hit 11 three-pointers in the game on Wednesday to come home with a 77-68 victory, and at least a share of the MAC West title.

Starting wing Allie Clifton was unable to play because of chronic foot problems, and her backup, Courtney Ingersoll, is unofficially reported to have mononucleosis.

Sub Clare Aubry had previously tweeked an ankle but still managed to account for three of those 11 three-pointers.

In another thread, an occasional nuisance dipper from an opposing school mentioned something about Toledo fans being delusional to think that our team would walk out with a win (I'm paraphrasing here) so maybe what I'm typing about didn't really happen. But then again it must be true because the Blade says so.

Anyway, hearty congratulations to these Toledo Rockets for lifting the spirits of the round-ball fans in Toledo during these "Times That Try Men's Souls," with your "gutsy" play and remarkable coach.

Come out to John F. on Saturday afternoon to help cheer the women on to sole possession of the divisional crown - or is that delusional crown - you wont be disappointed.

Bet they score more than 41 points.
Congratulations to the Lady Rockets04-bow

Maybe we Can get a Wendy's Frostie Saturday!!!02-13-banana

I'm offended 01-lauramac2 What do you mean occasional?

And for the record, I never said anything of the sort that Toledo would not win this game. I only said that taking this game as a guaranteed win was delusional. And I think you proved that my mentioning how rare it was for CMU to lose a home game this year. This was their first loss at home to a MAC opponent this year.

For the record, RWT is NOT from an opposing school. UT does not, and has never, scheduled any athletic contests with Tom's alma mater. He did not attend bg.

That was my Grandmas and a 1960's era strollers fault. My parents had nothing to do with it.

And BTW - My former boss mentioned on several occasions that he had better luck hiring graduates from Owens than Toledo and he was a Toledo alumni. And I lived in the BG area most of my life and until Owens has a FBS football team and a D1 hockey and basketball team, I will always be a BG fan thank you very much. 03-wink

Owens came pretty close to having a D1 basketball team for a few years there. They were awfully talented. Our talent is just awful. And it would require multiple bosses to be alumni. One boss would be an alumnus.
