I know Enos hasn't coached a down at CMU as of yet, but my concern is if he intends to use multiple offensive schemes, he's placing a lot of wager money in the players he has on board to adjust to his personal philosophy. I could endorse that scheme over a 3-4 year period as long as he's successfully recruiting/signing the "big/fast" players. When you have a quarterback under center, you potentially lose two-three seconds on every snap as opposed to the shotgun, which gives you those precious two-three seconds. It's also easier to read the defense from the shotgun. The no-huddle and three-speed tempos won us many games, because defenses got confused and gassed. I don't think that's something you want to summarily dismiss. He hasn't said that's what he's going to do, but there's obviously wiggle room in there that he's not addressing. If he thinks/believes his multiple schemes/player adjustment can keep us in the top-25, okay, let's go forward, but in my mind, you don't turn away from what got you to the dance in exchange for a "pants-on-the-ground" bet. Also, I would put all of my eggs in restructuring what I have always felt was a mutherphfucking-piss-poor defense! I want to see defensive backs challenging receivers (grill-to-grill) on EVERY play! Ten-fifteen yard cushions tell me you are not good enough to play that position, so why are you out there? "Big/fast?" Okay, if you can get 'em, great! If you don't, you know the penalty!
