With 5 bids now locked-up for the conference and Marquette barring a complete collapse down the stretch likely to make it 6 before the BET even starts...
...I'm betting right now that 4 BE teams would like to have 2 "do-over" games - one OOC and one in-conference.
USF - Central Michigan/ND - had the Bulls won those games they'd be 17-6 (6-5) and definitely on the right side of the bubble.
UConn - Michigan/SU - had the Huskies won those games they'd be 16-8 (5-6) with a good chance of finishing up with 9 or 10 Big East wins. That, coupled with the #1 SOS in the nation would have made them a lock for the NCAAs.
Cincy - the Zags or Xavier/St. John's - with those wins the Bearcats would be 16-7 (6-5) needing to just finish 3-4 in the league play to get an invite.
Seton Hall - VT/WVU - with those wins the Pirates would be 15-7 (5-6) and with a softer BE schedule down the stretch they'd finish either 9-9 or 10-8.
Any others I'm missing?
This is not to say that one or two of the above won't get an invite if they should get hot, but things would be a lot easier with those wins.
Strange how getting a bid or not getting a bid usually comes down to one OOC game and one conference game that a team had a great chance of winning, but just didn't quite get the wins.
Cheers,
Neil
