What would make you happy with the WMU Broncos Mens basketball program?

Other- I want MAC titles, which means repeated trips to the dance.
If we win 20+ chances are we beat CMU twice, win (at least) MAC West, and make one tourney or the other.
I don't see why this team shouldn't be postseason quality 3-4 times a decade. The last decade *wasn't* that bad, overall. 1 NCAA bid, 2 NIT bids, and frankly, the weakness of the conference probably cost another postseason bid in 2007-08. The frustration is probably that the MAC has taken a downswing in overall basketball play recently, so that even if the rumored expansion to 96 teams occured, some years, this would *still* be a one bid league. The late blown leads hasn't helped, either.
Firing Hawkins - now that would be a success.

Ditto.

I think it is telling that MAC championship isnt even a choice. The two AA's and NIT were extremes to set the table and contrast 20 Wins and beating CMU.

Win the MAC, schedule to pump SOS and RPI put you into 6-9 seed territory every campaign.
I also voted "other". I think if MAC titles was one of the options here it would be a runaway winner. Winning the MAC takes care of a lot of the other things.
OTHER: NCAA bid. Anything less and the season is a failure. Who cares about winning the MAC West? The teams in the West are horrible. Unless we are heads above the rest of the west and on a par with Kent State and Akron we aren't going to get the NCAA bid and that's all that matters.
I'd like to win 20+ games. Then again I'd like to win the Lotto.

This season we'll have to settle for 2 wins over CMU. 03-weeping
This is how you measure success.

all of the above?
Other should also include off the court success, these are students after all. Our dominance of the MAC all Academic team and the three straight years with Academic all Americans means more to me than many on court successes.
I'd measure success by a team that graduates players, good kids that make us proud to have them in our community, a team that competes on a year in and year out basis and that can and does compete on a national level in OOC games and not embarrass us.

A team that on occasion takes it to the next level and goes to the dance or NIT and competes there as well. It's not realistic to expect a dance appearance more than once or twice per decade with our resource and obstacles, it takes a building effort and some stars to align to get that far.

In those terms, we're as close to being a success as I can remember since the early Donewald days.

I'm frustrated by our underperformance that we've all discussed to ad nauseam.

Oh snap, DB is frustrated! Now we just can't have that, can we?

Go sleep it off Phil. It's late there.
How do I measure success? Its dimensions are 69" tall and 159 lbs... or at least that what it's listed at.
bump
Consistent contention for Mac Titles, which usually means you have to get around 20 wins by the end of it.

Of course, that on top of recruiting athletes who also take advantage of their academic opportunities. Whether that means graduating, or even just going on to pursue a meaningful (whatever that means) career after leaving the campus.
wow 56 votes overall - I didn't think we had that many posters on here! You all should participate more!
