I thought that was an interesting stat. The reason I use the last 24 seasons is that it was 1986 that the Saints franchise began to turn around from the pathetic, worthless excuse for a football team to at least being somewhat competative most years. 1986 was Jim Mora's first season as the Saints head coach. From the Saint's first NFL season (1967) to 1985, they never had a winning season. In 1986, Mora led the Saints to a 7-9 record. In 1987, New Orleans won 12 games and made the playoffs for the first time. They have only truly sucked a handful of times over the last 24 years (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2005).

Another interesting New Orleans Saints number- before Sean Payton became the Saints head coach in 2006, New Orleans was just 1-5 in the NFL Playoffs (the one victory coming in 2000 under Jim Haslett). Payton is now 4-1 (.800) in the Playoffs.
Congrats JMS.

The New Orleans Saints indeed played a good game last night and congratulations to them. The Indianapolis Colts helped a lot with too many dropped balls as well. However, the Saints dominated the game after going down ten to nothing midway in the first quarter.

Thanks, my friend. I was absolutely on cloud nine last night and all through the morning. It was a complete 180 from how I felt after the 2008 National Championship Game. Other than the Braves winning the 1995 World Series, I have never really experienced what it was like having a team I am a big fan of winning a title. I never thought the Saints would ever win the Super Bowl in my lifetime. I am mostly happy for my Dad though. He is 67 and grew up in New Orleans. He was at the Saints first regular game in 1967. It was great for old time fans like him that this finally happened.
This lifelong Saints fan contribution: Only 5 teams can say they're undefeated in the Super Bowl.

What a way to get to .500.

Not Raiders, lost to my Bucs.
But was it the Oakland Raiders or the LA Raiders?

Did I get Ravens right?

Same franchise. Like the Oilers becoming the Titans or LA Rams going to St. Louis or Colts leaving Baltimore for Indy. That's the way I see it.

I'm pretty sure you're right on Baltimore. They were one of the 4 I narrowed it down to.
My guess is the Jets being the other. Stats will probably know if he looks at the thread again.
OK, I will give you the Raiders same franchise...true.
Jets sounds about right.
I'm sitting here at 9:20 on a Tuesday night watching the WWL replay of the Saints Lombardi Gras parade on ESPN360.
You know with this title the Saints have reached the same level as the Akron Pros when it comes to NFL titles. Maybe someday they could win 12 NFL titles as was done in titletown, but i doubt it.

Interesting fact the Cleveland Browns played in 6 straight NFL championship games.
