He was at Jacksonville State before going to Wichita State. Wichita State was the best team in the Missouri Valley this year. A downside is that if Self ever leaves Kansas for any reason and Turgeon is successful at UAB...Kansas will come calling. One problem in attracting him is that the Koch family in Wichita throws a boatload of money at WSU. They might make it difficult for him to move.
His basketball roots are in the midwest though, and he's probably waiting for a BCS-type gig.

That would make a whole lot more sense than Mike Davis.
Here's some fun speculation: Maybe Mike Davis had an agent put his name out to ASU to show that: 1) He's still interested in the college ranks and 2)UAB needs to hurry up if they want a shot at him.
Not endorsing Mike Davis, but it wouldn't be an internet message board without some unfounded speculation.
Once again, Davis would kick butt in the in state recruiting.
Let's hope that the IAD at least explores this option.
