If you read the story youll notice a fan calls Glen Davis a "fat boy" several times and then proceeds to tell him to lose some weight. Although I dont necessarily agree with Davis turning a yelling at the fan, something else happens. The fan files a complaint with NBA security. Seriously, you call him fat and then he responds and you file a complaint?
Davis really needs to get some thicker skin. Calling him 'fat boy' isn't that bad. There's bound to be much worse around the league, especially in NY.

I agree with Davis needing to get thicker skin but as a fan, I would never call someone names and then get mad and file a report because he told me to "**** off". He didnt go into the stands and didnt threaten to kil him so why after repetitively calling him fat and telling him to lose some weight did the fan feel like it was worthy of filing a report with security?

i wish someone would have hit him with a bottle for being a *****
One of the funniest things I have ever seen was Oliver Miller standing under a goal in the Pyramid before that great Arkansas game with one hand holding the net, one hand rubbing his belly, and licking his lips after students sent several pizzas to his hotel.

If y6u are a fan and call someone a fat boy, heckling is part of the game not being obnoxious at all in my humble opinon. I did not come to guy to see a fanatic make a fool of himself during a sporting event.
It's the hypocrisy of fans. The sense of entitlement combined with a double standard imposed on others. It's gone to the extreme. Fans are not entitled to heckle.

There's a reason that Detroit was the location of the brawl, and it wasn't because of the Pacers. The Detroit fans triggered that event, and as much as players were punished, they should've punished fans by forcing the Pistons to play a couple games in an empty arena. But they wouldn't/couldn't do that.

Tolerating these fans' abusive hypocrisy is setting up these games for disaster. I don't know if it's just the day and age we live in, but I don't think it's a coincidence that a show like that Jersey Shore comes around with that kind of behavior, and we see things in arenas and stadiums that alienate fans that just want to cheer their teams on and see a good game. Who ever said that insulting other players should be a part of watching the game? And how far does it go?

And then Glen Davis comes out as the "bad" guy. Thin skinned perhaps.

That fan probably heckled to make himself feel better, perhaps to pose as some tough guy in front of friends. Now he's playing the victim. Hypocritical coward.

If he were a Tiger fan, uggh, I know I'd be responsible for what I'd do, but I would certainly give him a piece of my mind. There is no place for that. I wouldn't care who he rooted for.

The fan acted like an idiot and wanted his fifteen minutes of fame against some sort of antagonism he thinks an National Basketball Association player should take anything he says. I will boo the enemy and cheer for my team, but acting like that does not help anyone and embarasses the fan. So he goes and sues the forward Glen Davis from the Boston Celtics to save his pride and get a pound a flesh.
Football player who killed heckling fan back on field
BOGOTA (Colombia): A football player who acknowledged he killed a heckling fan last year is back playing for Colombian club Atletico Junior.

Midfielder Javier Florez played 75 minutes on Tuesday in an exhibition match between the reserves of Atletico Junior and Real Cartagena.

Florez said heckling fans challenged him to a fight after Atletico Junior lost a Colombian league match on July 5.

He said he was drunk and pulled a gun on the fans. He said one of them tried to take it away, and it went off several times. He said he did not intend to kill anyone.

He was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to three years probation. - AP
