but, I've mentioned this before, and watched closely again last night. I have seen nothing to change my mind. We don't create shots for our good shooters. Talking about screens, Mouzy is about the only one who sets screens for the guards. Nobody sets screens to get him loose. When our perimeter shooters get an open shot, it's usually when the defense is out of position. Most of our threes are taken with a defender in their shorts. Watch and then tell me if I'm wrong. If we had a coach like Wimp, he'd be running those guards off screens and picks all night long for some wide open shots. Remember Malik Dixon? We've got three pretty good shooting guards, and we're not getting near the productivity out of them that we should be getting. Solo gets most of his points off of layups and foul shots. All three should be getting a lot more perimeter shots than they're getting.

I'll definitely watch for it in Florida. I also think you are assuming that Solo, Mouzy, and Ricky can come around screens and hit 3's like Malik could. They all seem to be pretty good 3 point shooters, when they are wide open and have time to get their feet set. It's, at least, possible that the coaches have observed in practice that these guys are not that great shooters coming around screens and shooting on the move. I honestly don't know, because like you said, we haven't seen them do it in games. Actually, I have seen Solo take a few perimeter shots, on the move, and I can say pretty confidently that he is a lot better when he has time to set his feet.

No, I'm certainly not saying that any of the three can shoot like Malik could, because I don't think they can. And I agree that most any shooter is going to do better with his feet set. That's one of the fundamentals of shooting. But, the reason for a screen is to give the shooter an extra step or more on the defender. Many times he should have time to catch the ball, pivot, and set his feet and shoot.

You watch for it on your trip, and I'll be willing to bet right now that you won't see a play run that will get guard open off a screen or pick. Don't recall seeing one all year.

Ask Kerry, he's certainly knowledgeable about basketball.
