Trojans lead 41-32. Chastity has 24 at the half. They haven't played particularly well. They've given up a bunch of layups. The Trojans shot 54% from the field, but have hit 15-17 free throws. New Orleans shooting 52% from the field, but they only shot four free throws, making 3. Kim has shot twice, and has four point, two of them at the line. They've got to tighten up that defense in the second half, and stop giving up all those layups.

Reed is on her way to breaking her record she set just 2 weeks ago. 34 points with I believe about 12 minutes to go in the 2nd half.
She may go for 50 tonight, she's got 34 with 15 minutes left!!!!
How did we ever get a player like Chastity, and how did New Orleans miss her?
She graduated High School in the Dallas area after Katrina. She only averaged 12 points as a senior. How about that HS coach, he must have played ultra grinder ball

The UALR official site has a nice write-up about Reed.
Trojans up by 60-38 with about eleven minutes left in the game.
Chastity has broken her own school record and now has 43 points. She has also broken the Lakefront Arena record, which was set in 1983 at 41 points.

The UNO play by play guy said this is probably best performance by a player he has ever seen.
Final score 79-62. Chastity finished with 43. She missed several shots in the final two or three minutes, and didn't even draw iron on a couple of them. I guess maybe she was trying to hard, or her legs were getting tired, as I don't think she sat out more than a minute or two. I'm glad she did it in her home town. Kim finally got going tonight. I don't know her totals, but she scored in double figures, and hit a couple of threes.

After you posted this, I read it, and Chastity said she was raised in the 7th ward in New Orleans, and always says "7th ward when they introduce her in the starting lineup. Even her picture which was on the last Trojan home program, has the number 7 penciled in the zero of her #20.

I believe Phil said that the scoring record at Lakefront was 66 points set by Larry Bird, when the New Orleans Jazz played some games in the arena years ago. I don't know why they would have played there, but evidently they did.

Karl, have you ever head how we happened to get on Chastity? I know Foley has recruited several out of the Dallas area. Without a doubt she's going to set scoring records here that might be around awhile.

Best I can remember the Jazz played in the Superdome, since the city didn't have a basketball arena back then. I guess they must have played some games at UNO since the Superdome was not really built for basketball and the Jazz obviously didn't draw enough to stay in New Orleans

That's a shame. The Jazz for a mascot just goes with New Orleans, not Salt Lake City.
