I had made plans to watch last week's ETSU vs. KSU double header but last minute work duties and the weather kept me from attending. One thing I did notice about KSU was there new soccer stadium. The Owls only have woman's soccer not men's. According to KSU their new stadium will seat 8,300. Seriously! Does any on this site believe that there are 8,000 girl soccer fans at KSU? Could the new stadium have dual purpose? I’m just saying.
I know that they want football. They are actively trying to get it. Chattanooga has one of the best FCS football stadiums there is and it features football and soccer. So it could very well be that it is being built in mind for dual purposes. It's not that ETSU doesn't have that kind of foresight. It is that they specifically don't want football.
Surprised no one has come on already to mention that the stadium will be shared/leased by the Atlanta Beat, which is a new professional women's soccer team in the city. It's still probably wildly optimistic that they could get 8,000 people into even a pro game, but that is how they got the funds to build it in the first place.
Great news for football, obviously.
