Temple marches down the field on their first possession, scores a TD, then stops UCLA. So Golden Al decides to go into his bag of tricks on a stupid 1st down play, gets nothing, ends up having to punt, giving UCLA field position and UCLA scores the tying TD. 01-lauramac2

Golden Al should not be allowed on the field during the game. He is without a doubt the worst sideline coach in College Football...probably PeeWee football also.

If the receiver catches the pass on the "stupid 1st down play", Temple would have had a 1st down on the play. The play was actually open.

I'm not saying Golden is a great game day coach, but running a reverse pass in the 1st qtr., to me doesn't qualify as a stupid coaching move.
Golden gives UCLA -3- at the half. Temple still up 21-10, keep it up.

PS...Hoping Al gets the Illinois job.
Go Owls! MAC win over the PAC Ten? Pretty nice!
I swear they are trying lose ...1st Golden...then the pick and now the snap...... WTF...... Temple had the Bruins by their uclans and let go....
This game has become painful to watch. 03-banghead
The MAC Bowl Curse
Hell of an effort by Temple...a job or two by the refs and a dumb coaching move going for it on 4th + the injury. But definitely an effort to be proud of.

Agree. Al Golden had his team ready to play.

I hope the refs weren't from the Big East 03-lmfao

The injury to Pierce really hurt.
Frankly, I am tired of "good efforts." This conference needs to start winning some bowl games. I believe this makes 10 straight bowl losses for the MAC going back to 2007.

Nutshell.

Agreed. Although I think this made 12 L's in a row. Our conference is the 'Detroit Lions' of bowl season.

For some reason they went away from their play action that worked so well in the first half. I'm sure Pierce would have helped but I think it was more that they went away from their game plan. It wasn't like UCLA adjusted to it, Temple just abandoned the play action pass. That set up the run in the first half.
Temple let that one get away. They were banging w/ UCLA they were physically taking to them.

At least the two losses so far have been close..

Wait until BG takes the field against Idaho...that is where it could start to get ugly.

The streak started after CMU's win over MTSU in the 2006 MCB. Will it end when CMU wins the GMAC?

Agreed. I thought this year the MAC would make a splash.
The easiest 5 picks for bowl games are picking against MAC teams.....2-0 so far.

We did. Just in the toilet.
Temple owned UCLA in the first half and then the wheels fell off. Special Teams play sure cost the Owls field position and points.
A couple bad calls by officials against the Owls, but some questionable playcalling that blew up.
