cute, but wrong forum 03-lol
Thank you Miss J.
However, (and my memory could be wrong here, of course) it seems as if I was watching the NCAA tourney on ESPN in 1979.
But, maybe not?
Any help out there?
Hey, 24 hour TV, we only had three TV networks and they were gone off-air before midnight. It was tough, unless you like watching snow. I missed starting my mornings with Rin Tin Tin and Super Man.
Funny segment. Got me thinking. We didn't have Oprah but we had Phil Donahue.Didn't have MTV but we had Shindig and Hullabaloo. No 24 hour cable news but we had Walter Cronkite. No diet coke but we had Tab. And no MT.org but a bunch of folks sitting around at the VI or Ernie's talking Tiger sports over a beer. How did we ever make it?

The 6 club as we called it.

10 cent beer for chicks on Tuesday meant it was quite crowded and easy to cop a feel in the crowd.

Good food too.
There was no microwave to pop popcorn but there was Jiffy Pop!

Channel 3 went 24 hrs in late '76 or early '77. They showed nothing but old b-movies after midnite. I got off work at 1 am, went home, fixed something to eat and did a doobie or two. Never saw a b-movie on channel 3 I couldn't get into back then. 03-drunk

Channel 3 had the most complete incredible Film Library you'll ever see. They didn't have to show b-movies ever.

I grew up watching Tarzan and Ramar of the Jungle on Saturdays.

Then watching the "Early Movie" after school during weekdays.

I watched great black and white movies on the "Late Movie" in my Den with the lights off while my Dad slept on the other side of the house.

I lived for those Pete Smith specials.
There was no free porn on the internet because there was no internet.

Thank heaven (not really...it's just an expression) for Larry Flynt. I must have been responsible for the death of many trees.
Gee thanks guys, just when I delude myself into thinking I'm not really all that old you people have to break out Saturday Tarzan movies. Me, a bag of Lays potato chips and Tarzan. I didn't know how good I had it...
Don't forget about not having CELL PHONES. How did we do it?
