Full Version: Problem with Username when I tried to Post

I just posted to say Merry Christmas in the political forum. Hadn't posted on this board in quite a while. Something weird occurred though, when I did. I noticed that when I was going to post, a different username came up than my own, and it appeared that I was going to post under his/her screen name instead of my own.

Since I haven't been posting here for a few months, but have come back to read posts from time to time, I suppose it's possible that this could have been happening during the other times I was visiting to read the boards, and just hadn't noticed it before now. I haven't needed to log on since the boards came up without it, so I haven't paid attention to the "welcome back" name that showed-up.

But now I'm wondering how could I have been logged-in already today, with someone else's user name instead of my own? Any clues what could have caused this, since it concerns me that if it's happening with me, maybe someone else could also be able to log onto the board using my username, since I was logged on with someone else's? Is this just some quirk or an issue that is of concern?
What was the other username?

I cant' remember for sure. I think it might have been bucket? I guess I should have paid more attention, but I was confused that I was showing up as someone else, and was more concerned to make sure my account was still active, so I just logged in. And then I didn't see the other name again.
Well I think I solved my own problem.

I hired a guy last fall to do some computer work for me last year. He was using this and another computer to do backups. I stopped using him because I caught him more than once playing games on the internet when he was supposed to be working and charging me for the time.

The guy I use now found some of his internet history last week and it looks like he had gone to several sites where I and another employee who'd used this computer also, had sometimes posted, and ended up logging onto some of those sites himself. My guess is that he must have created an account here too, and that his cookie was still stored when I first logged back on. Weird, but it makes sense. Sorry if my original concern caused anyone here to take time researching for no reason.
Thanks for the explanation, that clarifies things
