So according to Attallablaze ABC 33/40 still has two oppurtunites to interrupt national broadcasting. So do you think that ABC 33/40 should show the UAB vs Butler game if it doesn't get picked up by a national tv network? I think so ABC 33/40 could help put butts in the seats for future games. ABC 33/40 has a large viewing area. That would be "primetime" for a Tuesday night.
Tuesday before Christmas won't be a school night.
The local ABC affiliate will pick up a road game. Why would they pick up a game that the locals could easily attend?

Oh yeah, your right. I haven't celebrated Christmas in about 10 years since i don't have a family. Those are just regular days to me.

I will go back and edit that line.

The ratings would be strong in Birmingham if they picked up the Virginia or Arkansas game. Especially Arkansas in SEC country.

Only 8500-9000 can attend but what about the remaining people who still don't know how really good UAB is.

I really hope they pick one of those games up.

No line of reasoning you come up with will justify UAB Officials wanting ABC 33/40 to carry the Butler game. That is not going to happen. UAB Officials want fannies in the stannies and if that game is shown locally it will severly affect the attendance of the game.

Best hope for the out of towners is Channelsurfing I fear.
Check the Butler University official athletics web site. I believe the Horizon League shows all games over the 'net for free. They could tap into UAB's feed.
We should know soon since the game is Tuesday.

going to live up to my name.

No way for "national TV" - just not that flexible to change at last minute

For UAB is it a sell out yet - if not, just say NO - we need revenue!

For any local TV station is local sponser ship available - enough to make up the loss of national TV revenue and the preemption penalty. We forget that they are business
Horizon League network is not showing the game
We will be on all top 25 ticker because butler is a top 25 team.
IF we are having the lead , espn will show upset special with the score of the game
They will show highlight all night and early morning
.I hope we can beat them and the stupid guy form espn say "bulter is so much better etc etc "
I will be at the game and try not to be ejected :)
I doubt 33/40 would do it for a home game when the viewers would mostly be at the game.

bean is correct.
hopefully channelsurfing will have it
