Which bowl game is the worst in terms of location, payout etc?
zzzzzz
My guess is that people outside this area who haven't been to the Motor City Bowl would rank it last, but let me explain why I don't think it is. The payout is on the low end, but it isn't the worst. All of the teams that have gotten an invite have been no more than a day's drive away and staying in Detroit isn't very expensive. The metro area and Northwest Ohio has enough MAC fans that attendance has been outstanding for a lower tier bowl even if Detroit doesn't strongly promote the game. The Detroit weather in December isn't typically good, but Ford Field is a great indoor facility. The city doesn't sponsor many events surrounding the bowl, but there's enough entertainment in the Detroit area for people to amuse themselves. It's not the best bowl, but it's certainly not the worst.
My vote goes to the bowl in Boise. Not only do you get to see two "meh" type teams play in a bowl game, but you get to freeze your nuts off while doing it. Not to add the difficulty of getting there, and I would think even Detroit would have more to do than Boise Idaho. No thanks.
I don't know.... i'd rather freeze in Boise than make a wrong turn in Detroit and getting shot. But thats just me.

So don't make a wrong turn. Wuss. 03-wink
I've been to Detroit once. My friends car was broken into and I got hid in the head with a rock.

I've been to Detroit many, many times between visiting family and attending music and sporting events. The worst that has happened to me in all that time (35+ years) is that my dad's minivan lost a hubcap. Maybe I've just been lucky, but I think the bad aspects of Detroit have really been overplayed.

Now Detroit politics, on the other hand...03-hissyfit
Detroit does a nice job with the MCB its a world class sports town. The worst bowl games IMHO are those little brother bowls run by the bowl committee's of major games. The Fiesta people also run the Insight Bowl. The Holiday Bowl has the Poinsetta Bowl. The Capital One Bowl has the Champs Sports Bowl. At least the MCB/LCPB is the main bowl in town. Being on the under card is kind of underwhelming.
My visit was 25 years ago. I might go back when BG gets to the MACC or the LC bowl. Until then, probably not. You know the old saying.... One rock to the head, your bad. Two rocks to the head, my bad.

Hell, you can make a "right" turn in Detroit, and get shot!

OTOH, no risk of running into a cow with one's car, which I understand is a real danger in Madison. 03-nerner
