Toledo just announced that its athletic director is getting an extension. It seems like a good move to me because the school is going in the right direction. The teams are doing well, scheduling pretty well and they don't seem to be hurting more than anyone else financially.

I don't know specifics of MOBs previous contract, but it's safe to say it was longer than a 1 year deal. Dr. Jacobs' comments and the rationale for the contract and increase are right on the money. In addition to doing more with less, Mike is by far the most approachable man I've met in the athletic department outside of the folks who HAVE TO deal with me Seriously, the man is VERY cordial and open to anyone who has something to say. I've been nothing but impressed with him from very early on, and I hope this keeps him in Toledo for a very long time.
