Congrats to the Chippewas! You deserved to win; you are the champions of the MAC yet again!
Central Michigan 2009 MAC champ 3rd in 4 years. Best team in the MAC. CMU another MAC football title.
Thanks. Nice to be Champs, but I am disappointed in the game. Not a very good showcase for the MAC. Ohio was depleted and CMU just didn't seem to have it on offense tonight. There were more false start penalties tonight than I have seen all year long.

Feel bad, too, about your DB, Lawrence getting taken out. He was having an outstanding game. I hope the CMU coaches have a long talk with the WR who was responsible.
Congrats to CMU. Thank God the MAC doesn't have to deal with LeFevour anymore! 03-wink
Unfortunately for me, I was only able to see the second half when not much was going on in the way of scoring...I guess the Chips and LeFevour looked much better earlier in the game. Hopefully both squads can go on and get some much need bowl victories for the MAC now!
Congrats to both teams on great seasons, and CMU especially for winning the MAC.

I guess I missed something from the stands?

Ditto!!! Let's call it what it was, a cheap shot. I feel terrible about this win. One can only wonder if OU had been healthy. We did not play inspired or good football by any standards.
I dont know what the kid was thinking. I watched the play about 5 times on record and it didnt look like he was going for the knee. It kinda looked like he hit his waist and they fell together. Still in this situation you just kinda run in front of the guy to block him a bit.. I wouldnt call it dirty just really unnecessary.
Congratulations CMU. Great turnout on your side. A lot more fans than in 2006. Every section between goal lines was pretty much full, plus two student sections behind the goal post on North side of field, plus they were scattered on Ohio side with the last 3 rows of the Ohio sections actually being sold to CMU fans.

I also would have liked to have seen the teams put on a more entertaining game for the national audience though. Ohio was just depleted from injuries unfortunately. It felt like we loss by more than 10 points, but Ohio's defense has often given up lots of yards and still kept us in the game by forcing key turnovers and red zone stops. Ohio's defense is also good at avoiding giving up big TD plays, but it's extremely tough to defend CMU's short quick pass routes. Containing CMU to 20 points was as good as any team not named Boston College or Arizona has been able to do this season.

Good luck in the GMAC bowl. I hope you guys get a good BCS name to beat up on and aren't paired with another non-BCS team. I'm not knocking/disrespecting other mid-major conferences, but I think there's more to be gained in seeing two MAC and Sun Belt conference champions having the opportunity to go 2-0 versus BCS teams than 1-1 against each other. Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot of BCS teams out there to play.
Congrats to the Chips. Great season. Also, a nice season for Ohio. Good luck to them both in their bowl game, as well as the other MAC team(s) that go bowling.
