Would not have France been a number one seed if the rankings were counted from November instead of October per the FIFA Coca-Cola World Rankings? Because of the good rankings even in October, France did indeed get an easier draw to make it to the second round in my humble opinion. I do not like what FIFA did for France regarding the Henry goal, but the refs should have made the call on the pitch in the end.

I do not like what FIFA did for France, but the refs should have made the call on the pitch in the end.

Theirry Henry is not to blame for this fiasco. The refs are. He did what any player does....do everything in his power to win the game. Its the refs job to enforce the rules.

As far as France getting Group A because of their ranking back in October....well that is just impossible. They were drawn into Pot 4 just the same as the 8 other non-seeded UEFA teams. If you are implying that the Live draw in front of 1 billion people worldwide was rigged...well, I dont see how that would even be possible. They might be the luckiest SOBs on the face of the earth but they had the same 12.5% chance of being drawn into Group A as anyone else in Pot 4. That would mean that not only is FIFA, UEFA, and the FFA(French Federation) in the conspiracy, but also that South African rugby player who drew the ball out of Pot 4. Do you think that guy would willingly screw over his own country to help France?

I am saying if the ranking was based in November, France would have been indeed a number one seed in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. France was third or fourth in the last World Cup and did not make to the second round in the 2002 World Cup. FIFA based on what France had done in the last two World Cups, put France in South Africa's group because of those results only.

France was not put into South Africa's group by FIFA. FIFA placed them in Pot 4 with the other 7 non-seeded UEFA teams. A random draw from Pot 4 in front of 1 billion people placed France in Group A with South Africa. Previous WC results had absolutely, positively nothing to do with it.
