I was really expecting Xavier to whoop up on Marquette considering they lost Dominic James, Wes Matthews, and Jerel McNeal to graduation, and basically have a new group of starters other than returning stud Lazar Haywood.

Really shocked that Marquette went into the Cintas and won by 10 (71-61). Jordan Crawford was 4-20 from the field and 0-3 on 3's. Although Jason Love of Xavier had 21 points and 19 rebounds. Hayward dropped in 27 points.

Not what I expected. I was hoping Marquette would be down this year, but good to see them still beating teams from the lesser conferences.
They didnt play at Cintas. They played at the ESPN complex in Florida.

Ok. Thanks.
I went to check Xavier's score against Creighton at halftime on Yahoo, and they don't have an ongoing boxscore going for the game, yet they do for Kennesaw St. vs. Tenn State, and Bethune-Cookman vs. Longwood, more important games I guess. LOL.
They didn't have one for UC vs. Gonzaga either.
Xavier lost again today against Baylor...

Yeah, Jordan Crawford seems to have free reign to shoot it as many times as he likes, and their fortunes live and die with his performance. I believe he was 6-19 today against Baylor in the loss. In past seasons, Xavier had more of a balanced offense.

Xavier also let Baylor get a ton of offensive rebounds in this game. Their guards really don't rebound...they start running the other way to go on a break before their big guys have the ball secured...this will kill them against UC.

And it appearss that Xavier will live and die with Jordan Crawford. In the four good games he's had they are 4-0, and in the two not so good games(they were actually pathetic performences by him) they are 0-2. UC needs to keep him contained and they should be fine. Good thing is that UC has proven they can hold down the other team's best players...The 'Cats D shutdown Vanderbilt, Maryland, and Gonzaga's best player in three straight games. Shut down Jordan Crawford and UC should win.
Change the coach..change the team..Mack ain't Miller.

I hope you're correct.

Crawford seems like one of those players who will shoot it alot whether he's having a good or bad game. And if we try and shut him down, he might lose the game all by himself for Xavier.
Was checking out Muskie Madness to see what X fans think of their team so far. Our comments seem to be in agreement with them. They're complaining that Mack should be taking players out more, because they think there is too much one on one street ball going on, and not enough "team" ball going on. Here's the link:

Watching X vs. K State. Also following game thread on Musketeer Madness to gauge how X fans feel about their team.

Funniest comment is they said that Crawford won't pass to Redford. They also think Frease sucks. They said Frease needs a GPS to figure out where he is. LOL. 46-33 with about 11 mins left in game.

Kenny Frease is the equivalent of Biggie McClain...height doesn't mean talent.
UC is going to murder X on the boards. They cannot rebound.
71-56 final. Shoulda been worse as some player from K-State was 2-9 on FT's. K-State didn't shoot well from the FT line as a team, so coulda been more like 20+ point win.

Jordan Crawford seems like the anti-Lance Stephenson, in that he's selfish. The one thing that has surprised me about Lance is that I expected him to be a ball hog and he isn't. He's an incredible passer.........probably our best PG on the team. Lance gets people involved.

Not sure who will win on Sunday. Not going to make bold predictions because you can throw all the stats out the window. But the negative things I see with Xavier is they seem like a bunch of individuals more than a team. Their rebounding leaves something to be desired also.

I'm just not that impressed with them, but as things go, they'll probably have their game of the year on Sunday, like they always do, then resort back to being mediocre again.
