Awesome! Good luck against Temple, should be a good game.
Congrats, Chips.
Thanks for taking care of the Huskies!!

I'm sure CMU will take care of business next Friday but its always nice to be able to be sure... 03-phew
Here's where NIU sneaks into Mt. Pleasant and steals a win from a nonchalant Chips team, right?

Not a chance. CMU has a chance to win 10 games this year and aren't about to let a second rate team spoil it for them. Last home game for the seniors, plenty of reasons for CMU to put the pedal down against a NIU team playing for nothing.

Better that than already making excuses.
Congrats to the Chips. I almost yak when I write that but CMU has done what it needed to do.

With that said, just ONCE I'd love to see the pinheads at the MAC office who make up the schedules have CMU and NIU play midseason, instead of when the West has already been decided. Seems they've been playing them very late during the last few years.
It is usually luck, but the schedule makers did well this year. They were guaranteed to have one division decided on the last day of the season, and better yet ESPNU picked the right game.

Actually if Kent and NIU had both won there would have been 2 division championship games Friday.

And I am sure the Western fans think we made a deal with the devil.

We did, his name is Brian Kelly.

Actually, we played EMU last in 2007 and 2008. Which, IMO, is part of the reason we lost those games, having already clinched in 2007 and been eliminated by BSU last season. You're probably thinking of the 2006 season, when we clinched the title then cam out flat in DeKalb against the Garrett Wolfe-led Huskies. 03-banghead

Actually, I don't think we'll come out flat next Friday, unless the anticipated lack of fans ( 01-lauramac2 ) due to timing has a big impact. This is the last appearance at home for LeFevour, Anderson, Gordy, Knight, Williams, Brazzel, Fraser, Edwards, Ollenburger, and Aguila, who have been important to our success the past few years. I think they'll want to go out with a bang!

OTOH, NIU will have just six days to recover from a hard-fought game today; the Huskies have only pride and perhaps a better bowl berth as motivation. I don't anticipate a blowout, but I think CMU will win by at least 10.

I think you mean "a bowl berth" not "a better bowl berth". If we lose we don't go bowling. BGSU will be picked to go to a bowl over NIU(the Ohio factor). I don't believe after last year that 5 MAC teams will go so we will be sitting home for the holidays.
