Next year will be here before you know it.... so how many starters will your team have back and at what positions? Who will be the biggest losses?

Troy - returning starters:

Offense: 6-7
(big losses: QB Levi Brown, C Danny Franks)

Returning:

RB Southward (and Harris)
OL J.Brown
OL T.Clark
OL Wilborn
WR Jernigan
WR Gill
WR Jarboe (semi-starter this year)

Defense: 4
(big losses: DEs Lang and Sheffield, LBs Lee and Woods)

Returning:

DT Kinlaw
LB Sheffield
CB Willis
CB Valcin
Seems like Jernigan has been there forever, I can't wait for him to graduate.
For the ULM Warhawks (based on current starting lineup):

Offense: 5
(big losses: WR LeGregory Sapp, WR Darrell McNeal, OL Brett Thompson)

Returning:

TE Alvin Jordan
OL Justin Roberts
OL Jonathan Gill
OL Doug Stroud (semi-starter)
WR Tim Taylor
WR Luther Ambrose (semi-starter)
WR Anthony McCall (semi-starter)
RB Frank Goodin
QB Trey Revell

Defense: 7
(big losses: DE Aaron Morgan, NT Aaron Williams, LBs Cardia Jackson and Josh Thomas,FS Greg James, H James Truxillo, CB Otis Stamps)

Returning:

DE Troy Evans
LB Theo Smith
CB Nate Brown
SS Darius Prelow

Lose a punter (Scott Love) but will return all our special teams. I don't think our defense will take as big a hit as it looks but we'll miss that senior leadership.

QB Jamie Hampton (Dan Parker)
OL Tyler Graves (Started when Wilborn went down)

On defense, we'll be fine with the current DT and DE rotation back minus seniors. LBs that are getting playing time like: Lamb, Golden, DAVIS, etc...

The focus will be putting a couple of safties out there and #22 & 23 will compete with some of the younger guys...we'll be fine 02-13-banana
Offense will be even better next year. We return 4 out of 5 on the offensive line, the QB and if Tanner gets his medical redshirt a seriously talented and deep backfield. We graduate several WR's, but we are very deep and have talented underclassmen there.

Defense is another story. We graduate two on the line, two LB's and both corners. Fortunately, only one of our two defensive anchors are graduating. I think it's splitting hairs over who's the better player between Carmichael and Kellem, but Carmichael just took the all time lead in tackles this year and Kellem will almost definitely take it from him next year. Kellem will be a hell of a senior defensive captain next year.

The DT position doesn't worry me with Kinlaw returning and the LSU transfer already seeing playing time but we won't be able to replace both DEs (!). IMHO Lang and Sheffield can't be replaced by projected starters Addison and RJ Roberts. Harper and Massaquoi are very talented but they lack experience and Harper is still undersized.
LBs: Lamb, Golden, Davis and Thomas are talented but they won't be able to replace Lee and Woods immediately. We also have some depth issues.

This will be a defensive rebuilding year for us.

Our Offense should be pretty good with so many starters and top back-ups (esp. at the WR position) returning. Jamie Hampton will be the starter and should be able to replace Levi.

With so many starters returning, ULMs offense should be pretty productive next year.

IMO MTSU will be the favorite to win the SBC next year.
Our biggest return is HB Alfred Morris!

Yeah, offensively we should be okay. We'll be deep at QB next year with two currently red-shirt freshmen that we're high on and they should fill in nicely once Revell graduates. I hate we lose Sapp and McNeal but there's some talent waiting in the wings. On defense we have played a lot of people all year so it won't be hard to replace folks, but that's a lot of senior leadership you hate to lose after this season. Finding good D-linemen will be the big problem (isn't it always?).

Troy should be just fine, too. I think the SBC will be between Troy, ULM, and Middle again next year.

Yeah, but I think we lose a lot of our OLine next year.

That has me worried.

yeah, i was trying to forget that part at this time.
This gives you an idea about some of our struggles this year and hope for the future.02-13-banana

We have 10 players returning on Offense. We lose one lineman and he has been rotating in and out with a Redshirt Freshman.

We return 10 players on defense and lose one linebacker.

So you're saying the same players can go 0-12 again next year.03-lmfao Sorry, I had to.

You "loose" a linebacker ? Do you have him in a cage or what ?05-stirthepot

You never know about the Florida programs. There is no telling what kind of talent they have coming in, or redshirting. I'm sure Troy has a stockpile of talent waiting in the wings, as well.

At least one of the FIU or FAU will be in the Top 3 of the Belt next year, methinks.

FIU has a young team coming back next year. We have like the 2nd most true-freshman playing this year behind I think Tulane (this from the 2nd best recruiting class in the Belt according to Rivals). Next year's recruiting class is off to a strong start and we have the Miss. St. transfer QB taking the reins. So if we can get some size up front, esp. the D-Line, we might be very competitive.
