There is probably no truth to that rumor, but a MWC of its current 9 members plus Boise State, Fresno State and Nevada would be a darn good football conference.

:iagree:
Throw Houston in that mix for one of the 3 spots as well.
Bleacher report isnt a very credible source. Any fan can write an article and post it there. Might as well get tigercanes to write a memphis to the big east column for us.

That would be a really good west coast conference,,
The world is theirs....
If you think about it, there's typically a BCS-buster team every year. Here's the past five seasons:

2008-09: Utah
2007-08: Hawaii
2006-07: Boise State
2005-06: none
2004-05: Utah

If the expanded MWC were to come to fruition, that would give them three of the last four BCS buster teams...and both TCU and Boise are poised to do it this season. That would be a good argument for BCS inclusion.

It would be one helluva conference

Yes it would, but the competition would annually knock one or two of those from the undefeated ranks. But if they become BCS that wouldn't matter.
This is the reason TCU left for the Mountain West: the MWC has had a longe range plan of getting into the BCS as a conference for a while and has done everything they can, up to and including legal action, to get accepted into the BCS. It has only helped that they, along with BSU (and to a lesser extent Fresno State), have produced on the field.

Britton Banowsky is a bigger idiot than RC Johnson could ever be.
These rumors been out there for a few weeks/months now. I've been hearing Houston for sometime which surprised me when Neveda was mentioned over them. I first heard Neveda yesterday.

I'd take UNLV before I'd take Nevada

Anyway, Houston is much more valuable.
Hasn't there been some Pac 10 expansion rumors floating around too? If those are true that may alter MWC plans a bit.

UNLV is already in the MWC.

I might be stronger than the BE.
Writer made no reference to what would be a fundamental topic regarding Fresno State - the reason why the MWC schools originally in the WAC split was due in large part to perceived academic inequalities ... and Fresno State was regularly cited as an issue for them. The MWC schools regarded their former WAC brethren as renegades particularly as to admissions for athletes - whenever Fresno plays a MWC school it gets very chippy.

So to write an article about MWC extending membership to Fresno State without comment on this issue should make anyone a skeptic.
