So ... given that's there's a fairly constant pulse here now, we should probably add at least one moderator.
So, nominate a moderator in this thread. The catch? You can't nominate yourself. What does a moderator have to do? Enforce the AUP (up top under Info). Nothing more. Nothing less.
Hopefully in a day or two this thread will have successfully sucked some poor unsuspecting fool into moderator serfdom nominated a great moderator.

I appreciate the support, and am really liking the posters that have started to come here regularly. I don't want this to turn into Valley Talk, and think those posting here all agree. We all, at least I believe, have lots of contacts back at our own boards, and so we can all work to keep things civil by pm'ing those that walk the line.
I'm thinking we should have a smack talk board for those that thrive on that, but would want most of the posts in the other boards to maintain what they are right now: Civil, Informational, and Respectful. You don't have to agree, but if you do disagree, come with points, counterpoints, and verifiable information to engage the conversation, not attack the person, place, school, or affiliation.
The AUP on this board is very specific about flaming, warning levels, etc. I like that very much.

I agree. If you want to make fun of other teams or whatever, do it on your own team's message board.
I would nominate DTSB but he has several backers already. Mine would be for an additional Mod, so I nominate examinerjoe. He seems really involved online and has shown an ability to take attacks with grace and thoughtfulness.

As one of the former VT moderators, I recommend anybody but me. Once it was obvious that the owner of that board didn't even visit the board at all, all the mods decided it wasn't worth our time to moderate a board for an absentee owner. If he didn't care enough to visit a board on which he was collecting advertising revenue, I wasn't going to waste my time moderating it for him.
