LAME. LAME. LAME.
Yeah, weak. Thye truth is that the fans wanted the schedule to change after seeing us start 0-4 by getting hammered by the Michigan's and Miami's of the world. The changes took season to get there but it began before Rip was hired. West may like the current line-up but he didn't decide to do it, start it and implement it. Leadership did that...not West.
Who cares anymore? I'm officially over Tiger football for this season...until I hear where TW is gone. Then, I'll pay attention to see who is named as new head coach.

It's basketball time...be happy!!
really?

I could have sworn it was West and RC who watered down the schedule in an attempt to create winning ways with the program. Without looking back at schedules I don'r remember Rip having a problem playing better competition, his problem was not beating any of them, with the exception of UTK... Could be wrong about this, my memory aint what it used to be, lol.
I don't remember anymore who did it. But I know the mood after some of those slaughters we endured with the aforementioned schools.

I think the concept was to win, attract more fans and better recruits, and improve the schedule. Obviously, it didn't work.
Seriously, it's time for some Tiger B-Ball.
It was the Kansas State approach.
If Tommy is lucky he'll be coaching in the OVC next year.
OR...he may be coaching in the SEC

Yeah, and while that's going on, Santa Claus and I will be in the lost city of Atlantis dancing with leprechauns.
If this happens I think the fans will go crazy! imo.
He'd make a good defensive coordinator somewhere.

He's just not a head coach, but he'd be a good coordinator.
It was Tommy who scheduled down....He thought with 8 C-USA games, and one SEC game each year (some years 2 when UT and Mississippi were both on the schedule) would be hard enough, and he wanted to be sure we would always get more than 6 wins, and get in a bowl. The reduction in strength coincided with DeAngelo's graduation. (Well, maybe...I don't really remember that as fact.)

Don't count me in that group. I loved playing a tougher schedule, even if it didn't result in that many wins.

Now, we play a crap schedule and still lose. I'd rather go back to playing a tough schedule again.
BASKETBALL IS HERE....THANK GOD!

Which is the dumbest thing I ever heard ... KSU played in the Big12 ... they dont have to play any decent ooc teams to play a good schedule.

We are in the 9th toughest conference, a confernece that the general public all over the southeast is not interested in.

AND

TW has managed to lose to the crappy teams ...04-chairshot

I suppose there were some fans who wanted to dumb down the schedule, but not a one in our group of 18-20 thought that was the correct approach. I believe we have fans who parrot the administrations decisions, and those folks bought into playing weak schedule; yet, there is no doubt the quality of player has fallen off as we have drifted away from playing challenging out-of-conference foes. Kids want to line up and play against the best, and for those kids who are just a notch below the bcs-level, there is little now differentiating us from the MTSU's and Arkansas State's of the world. This has to have made recruiting far more challenging.

Tommy was a staunch advocate of following RC's "path of least resistance" in terms of scheduling, and now that he is having trouble beating the Sun Belt teams he initially advocated playing, then I can only summize he would want to take it down another level.
