A friend of mine recently told me that BYU almost became apart of the Pac-10 (making it the Pac-11), but Stanford vetoed the proposal. Is this true? Does anyone have any info on the topic?

Actually, numbnuts, I really did mean to say "vetoed." What my friend said was that it was because of Stanford that BYU isn't in the PAC-10. Stanford vetoed (voted against) BYU becoming apart of the conference which would have required 100% support by all members of the PAC-10. Stanford therefore "vetoed" the proposal. You never knew that "veto" is a word? What kind of ignoramus are you?? You don't have to go to college to know that "veto" is to revoke or prohibit. I've known that since 3rd grade when we learned about the President's vetoing power over Congressional votes. In the PAC-10, each school has vetoing power over proposals such as adding a new team to the conference. Anyone that can even make it into college knows what the word "veto" means. And you say you went to UM? You can't mean Michigan...it must be University of Montana. Stop lying.

I have often heard BYU fans talk about how they want to be or think that they should be a part of the Pac-10. I have never heard that it almost happened. I think that it is jus a pipe dream that BYU has. I have also heard a lot of U of U fans talking about the same thing. I think this is silly. I doubt the Pac-10 would ever considder expanding. I have even heard some of my own UNLV fans talking about geting invited. Bottom line, WE WISH! Every MWC team wishes they were in the Pac-10. As much as I love my conference, you just can't compete with BCS money and the prestige of being in a major conference. We are on the outside looking in. What do Pac-10 fans think about this? Would or schoul the Pac-10 expand? Who would they take?
