A simple question
No.

ESPNU has maybe half the subscription base as the ESPN/ESPN2 channels. Until this past fall, ESPNU only reached 20-25 million homes.
Yes. Wasn't ESPN planning on phasing out ESPN Classic and making the U more available?

Well, then do the necessary to get it.
Not going to waste money just to get ESPNU.

According to Directv website:

Quote:Earlier this year, we announced that we had reached an agreement to make ESPNU (Ch. 614) available to more customers by moving it from SPORTS PACK and adding it to our CHOICE and CHOICE XTRA packages. This change took place on 9/1. As part of this lineup change we also moved ESPN Classic (Ch. 208) into the SPORTS PACK which includes more than 35 sports channels. For more information on SPORTS PACK please visit our web site at directv.com/sportspack.

To summarize if you get Directv you do not need a special sports package.

DIRECTV - ESPN U = Channel #614
Dish Network recently moved ESPNU from the sports pack to regular subscription channels. If both Dish Network and DirectTV have done this then ESPNU subscriptions have gone up a lot recently.
Yep.

It's part of our AT&T U-verse package. I think we have it as part of the HD package too.
It also looks like it is standard on Comcast as well

ESPN U - Comcast = Channel #405
Yes, in Louisiana Direct TV.
Yep, part of the standard package with Time Warner here in KC. Great not only for Huskie games but also for college lacrosse games come spring time.
Yes.

Looks like most people on here do too.

I think ESPNU was swapped for Classic on Comcast.

Classic still exists, you just have to really want to have a special package to get it. Like Fox Soccer. I miss having Fox Soccer.
I don't get ESPNU, but I do get ESPN360 so I am able to see games on the U.
I love ESPNU. They have lots of college football and basketball games on there. Sometimes good high school games and recruiting shows as well. And, college volleyball which we like watching in our house. If NIU was never on ESPNU it would still be a good bargain for me since I love watching every game I can during basketball season.
Does anyone get ESPNU in HD? I know they offer this but I do not seem to get it on Directv, wondering if Dish has it or is it available on Comcast?

Games on ESPNU are not broadcast on ESPN360.

Comcast does not have ESPNU HD either. Not that I have an HDTV, but watching games on ESPNU SD is brutal at times. I try to watch all of my sports on the HD channels with my trusty ole SDTV.
Comcast in South Alabama does allow me to watch the U.
i get ESPNU and ESPN360
