Just wanted to let you know that the University of Memphis won the Sports Marketing Association's Case Cup competition for the graduate level in Cleveland this past week. How do I know? Well, I was a member of the team.

We beat the likes of Florida and Florida State.

So the University of Memphis has one championship this year. One down for this team and the big daddy coming up January 31st in Baltimore at the National Sports Forum. The team came in second last year and we hope to bring it home this year.

Just wanted to share since we are all about the University!!

Could you share exactly what that is? If I'm gonna smack talk I may need to know what I'm smackin' 'bout......
That is so cool ! I would also like to know more about exactly what ya'll did.
We are given a case study on a particular topic in sport marketing and have to come up with a solution on the issue. This year's topic was on developing a marketing strategy to help the Charlotte's Bobcats staff determine what is the best approach to increase ticket sales and support for the organization.

We had about two weeks to create our solution paper and submit it. then we had to create a poster that demonstrated our solution and judges would come around at the competition and would ask questions regarding our strategy.

In Baltimore this January, we will be given the case study on a Saturday morning on a topic in sport, and will only have 24 hours to prepare our answer and presentation against some of the best programs in our field. Because we came in second last year, we received an automatic bid for this year. We are only one of two schools who compete at the National Sports Forum that our sport masters program is not connected to a MBA program. It is great recognition for the university.

Hope that helps.
So this Baltimore comp it wouldn't be around the date of the Syracuse game would it??
Hope you guys do good at the National Case comp.

After you guys get done with that I guess you'll be looking at at more local issue...........

No. It is at the end of January.

lol...We all laughed and said that the Grizzlies needed to hire us to research their issues after the Bobcat stuff. Very similar... A major disconnect with the fans after an initial strong support for the teams.
Your Case Cup runneth over.
