The two names he mentioned as having their best practices so far were Nick and Montrelle. That sounds good. If Nick can get up to speed enough to get into the rotation, that will be a plus for the team. And Montrelle can certainly be a help inside with rebounding. I know there is a learning curve for newcomers, and hopefully these two guys are coming on now. Competition is going to be fierce for playing time.01-lauramac2
I agree. Good Report. Hopefully his reports will be more frequent now that season is upon us.
Great post by Steve. Exactly what we need, and they don't even have to be that long. Just something.

Looks to me like he might as well be hanging a banner in the locker room: "If you don't play defense, you don't play."
Of course, his mention of Cicic and Montrell muddies the water considerably.

If they are moving ahead of some of the other players, it does possibly change the landscape that we've been painting. Especially if Kelson and Derrick are staying behind these two, which may not even be the case, but assuming the possibility, then Kelson obviously won't be around for two more years. He would probably be best advised to move on where he can play. And Derrick should receive his degree this summer, so if he's not going to be a factor next season, he could get on with his life and move on. I'm not saying that either of these scenarios will take place. But it only makes sense if both would ride the bench again next season, why would they want to stay? I'm hoping for a break out year this year from Derrick, but if it doesn't happen, anything is a possibility.04-cheers

Umm, maybe to get a degree?

As I stated, Derrick, being a Prop 48, will have to get his degree to even be eligible to play next season. And he's on schedule to receive his degree in the summer. Kelson could transfer to a D2 school, have two years remaining, play right away, and still receive his degree. I'll guarantee you there are a lot of D2 schools who would like to have him. These are obviously just speculations as to what could happen under certain circumstances. If these two young men play at a level that is expected of them this seaon, and I think we all hope that they will, then this is all just conversation.04-cheers
I had a good feeling about C, and so far it looks to be paying off. Here's to hoping his improvement continues!

I think he's one of the good guys. I'm certainly rooting for him.04-rock
