No problems to report here.
Nope

There have been times during a monsoon; but not recently.

I remember calling the Time Warner cable folks one time to complain when it went out during a rain storm.

I asked if they remembered their commercials about DirecTV going out during a rainstorm.

They did. So I told them they had the same problem. For some reason they didn't find any humor in my complaint. LOL

.
no problems in Olive Branch
I have no problems today. You may need to have your sat dish checked if you continue to have probs during the rain. A friend at work was having issues and it turned out the stem that holds the cap was faulty. Replaced that and now no probs with reception in normal rain.

If there's a 50,000 ft high thunder boomer rollin' over your house, good chance the signal isn't going to cut through that. But that usually lasts all of a few min until it passes by.
My reception problems seem to be limited to my big set with HD....naturally.

maybe somethings wrong with your HD receiver ?
We have it here at work and ours completely stopped working and said searching for signal all the time. When my boss called they said our box was not compatible anymore and they sent us 3 new ones. Nice of them to call and let us know our boxes were outdated huh?!?

You might wanna check and see if its the same problem w yours!

Mine did too. Called DTV...on the phone for about an hour while they ran multiple test...the tech then said the rec'v they gave me is a refurb and has a history of service problems....he then put me through to another person who then said they'd have to put in a service call and they'd charge me $50. I told them that's carzy since your guy just told me it's the HD rec'v that I lease from you and your own records show it has problems. They stuck to their guns so I told them to come get their gear. About 3 years ago I had a bad rec'v and they simply mailed another one. This time something changed.

that's weird....they have always just switched them out for me...I would have raised ten counts of hell if they would not have honored having a working receiver.
I had a std def rec that just quit working. After a phone call they sent me a new/refurb rec but I did have to pay for shipping. Of course it helps that I have been a customer since 1996.
Thanks again to all of you. I talked with DTV again yesterday and a new receiver is being FEDXED express mail. I can assure you of one thing. In the future, when I get the screen messge, "Problems in the storage devide.....code 14-469", I won't spent much time trying to get a picture, I'll just request a new receiver. My problems started in early September.
Well.....fellow Tigers, after multiple telephone conversations, a DTV technician will visit my home tomorrow. The new receiver....which I received and attached on 11/2....did not solve my problem. I'll keep you updated.

Please do. I'm very curious about all of this
Sounds like your sat dish is hosed.

that's what I'm thinking .... maybe one of the storms got your HD dish ?
Its not uncommon for one of the LNBs to go bad on the dish. Especially if its subject to lots of sun and wind. I had an LNB go out that affected certain channel ranges on my DirecTV and had to have it replaced. Depending on the dish you can have up to 4 LNBs.
What really puzzles me is that.....of our three TV's....the only one malfunctioning is the one with HD....my large screen.
