(10-29-2009 08:05 AM)missjtiger Wrote: [ -> ]My backyard is like a swamp right now. My Kyzer, the male Doberman, loves to run. He runs alot, like all the time and he has made the backyard look like someone plowed it up. Nothing but mud...so when my Ko goes out to play and do his business he comes INSIDE totally full of mud...not fun cleaning that big body. I'm at the point now of wishing for freezing weather so the ground will freeze so I won't have the swamp anymore. 03-melodramatic

Ha, I know the feeling. Mine head straight for the bed...what a mess 03-banghead
Gotta love 'em furbabies though.........

speaking of the bed....I had to literally vaccum the bed off last night because of his dirt and sand he brought in.....he sleeps in my bed during the day when I'm at the office and I think he likes to dig down so he moves his sheet and blanket so he can get down to my nice comforter and nice sheets....it was like a small sand pile last night 03-lmfao He looks at me like I'm nuts when I try to explain to him this isn't funny. I know he knows no matter what he does I love him....the big lug.

For the muddy feet try some doggy boots.

As far as the weather I'll take 68 deg rain than 34 deg rain anyday since I work out in this stuff.
If GT could eliminate the rain until April that would work for me. I think all the lakes in Georgia are full by now.
By the way just when is Emperor GT's release date?

I love those boots but my 5 pound Skittles would fit in one boot. He needs something a little smaller! 03-lmfao
ok...I confess....Ko already has a pair very similar....problem is though when I put them on him he just stands still and looks up at me with his big sad eyes and begs for me to take them off of him so I do. He does alot of things I ask him to do that he really would rather not do but the look he gives me when I put those on his feet is priceless.

Awww, that is so sweet. You should take a picture and put it on here.

Ha, if you ever wait long enough for Ko to actually start walking (if that's you'd call it), you will laugh for a long long time. It takes them a while to get used to them....pretty funny to watch....
Although those are really really funny....it is borderline cruel. I will try to get a pick/video of Ko in his this weekend. He looks homeless right now because he hasn't been groomed in 2 1/2 weeks now.

It's really not. When one of mine was a baby, he was allergic to wetgrass....his little paws would get all red and swolen. So I had no choice but to use the little boots. It took him about 15 minutes before he started running in them. All I had to do was say 'outside' and he would be right there sticking his paws out for me to put on the booties.
They sure know how to play pitiful....get's me every time.... 03-lmfao

Okay, I will not be buying boots that is for sure and TGIF to all!
I guess it just depends on the dog. I know KoKo doesn't like his one single bit. But, he's real sensitive about his feet...he hates to even have them clipped/groomed. His sun glasses he didn't like at first but eventually got used to them.
Having lived up north for awhile the boots I've seen work as protection from the cold and pad cuts for working dogs usually sled dogs or bird dogs. Believe it or not ice can be sort of painful to run on.
If you have seen pictures from the Iditarod Sled Dog race you'll see them in use by all.

A dog is like a two year old in my opinion, it has a mind of its own, and it will not listen to any of its masters in the end.
