NW, NIU or SIU?

Damn, this state has some not-so-good competition when it comes to football.

SIU is ranked third in the FCS, good win came against UNI but that's about it, put up a good fight against Marshall in week 1 but lost.

Northwestern has done nothing impressive, one-possession victorys against EMU, Purdue and Miami OH. Pretty impressive come back against Indiana on Saturday that will most likely get them into a bowl game as they play UofI in a few weeks.

And we all know the NIU story
NIU-NW in the Pizza Pizza Bowl?

I'd enjoy that matchup.. I'm sure the bowl committee is hoping that Michigan falls to them
The RPI equivalent for football says SIU is, and NIU just a bit better than Northwestern for 2nd.

Michigan will never play the Pizza Bowl. If eligible they will picked by a bigger bowl because their fan support and name.

While beating Indiana doesn't count as an impressive win, coming back from a 25 point deficit showed a great deal of heart and guts. It was a terrific game to watch yesterday despite the weather. The win over Purdue was also the result of spotting Purdue an 18 point lead and shutting their O down the rest of the game. Wins like that build confidence, I'd like to see the Huskies do the same in the last 4 games.

Day after Christmas I believe
Much depends on who's healthy and can play. NIU w/o Harnish isn't the same team as much as NU without Phillips, Smith or Wooten at half speed. If SIU is completely healthy they could be the best.
SIU until some results may change anything.

Deal with it.
Best team in state?

Maybe Maine South?
