Just wondering if anyone has been there. If so, where is the best area to tailgate? I have seen contradicting reports on the local law enforcement busting tailgaters for open alcohol. Just wondeirng if it is similar to Ohio State, basically don't flaunt it and stay in the lot.

Also any good bars there for postgame or anyone have ideas? Doesn't look like much of a town. Perhaps just some Skyline Chili then off to Cincinnati for the Bears game if it's dead.

If anyone is headed to the Bears/Bengals, it seems Longworth Hall lot (off Pete Rose way , south of 3rd) is the place for tailgating on Bear's page, with lots N. of 3rd and west for the overflow. .

Hoefully both teams will rebound this week!!!
Hey randyfens, where did you get that flag in the pictures you attached? Looks very cool and haven't seen any like it
It was actually given to me by a fellow alum. It's a few years old. I will post if I find out.
Actually Oxford has quite a few bars in the uptown area...just head up there, go to skyline and then find what you want, the uptown area is about 5 blocks long. Much like downtown DeKalb, but with a geneva/st charles feel. I spent some time there after we beat them when Michael Turner carried the huskies to a victory.
From wikitravel:
Mac & Joe's, 21 E. High St. (rear; enter from the alley).
Stadium Grille, 16 S. Poplar St. Several wide screen televisions, dance floor.
Steinkeller, 15 E. High Street (basement), (513) 524-2437. German-style bar and restaurant (mostly American bar food) with a wide selection of German beers.
Kofenya, 38 W High St, [15]. By far, the best place to grab some coffee in Oxford in a very relaxed atmosphere, it's a hang out for many Miami students.

The stadium I thought was in a low area.
Tailgating area was very close to the stadium.
Thanks for the info!
was gonna go but didn't really want to pay $100 for a ticket to the bears/bengals game. oh well.
Miami, OH is an outstanding campus. One of the nicest college towns and campuses in the nation. I guess that's what you get when you have so many well-heeled and connected alumni populating the earth. Miami, OH is a school I hope my daughter will seriously consider in a few years when choice of college becomes relevant.

Yeah. You wouldn't want her go to that god awful NIU. She can't stick her nose high in the air at a low class school like NIU like she can at Miami. 05-stirthepot

I think they used to sell those at the VCB or Holmes Book Store...remember them from around '04 or so??
huskiefan38 and I will be making the trip to Miami. I have been there before, but didn't really "hit the town". This time will be different. I think we are going to arrive Friday night, hit some watering holes, sleep in the sprinter and wake up bright and early for tailgating. Hotel Saturday night.

Cool. I am just trying to figure out where to park. Looks like a big lot to the sw, appears to be a dorm there too? Am I correct? Or do you go north?

I just looked @ their football site. It's called Millett Hall (west lot)

We are staying in Indy Friday, so won't be there until Saturday.
