...again?
Don't get your hopes up for next year. Game will be at always sunny Kelly / Shorts Stadium and the Broncos historically have some issues there.

Better just mark your 2011 calendar for a possible W.
You lose Fevour who's been our nemesis. We'll have a pretty good O if we can find a QB to replace Hiller. Almost everyone comes back who's a starter. And the D doesn't have any massive losses either.

I don't usually count my chickes before they're hatched but we should be one of the teams in the mix for the MAC west-if we can find that QB.

I agree, the chips are toast after Lefevour leaves. I think their coach will ride the wave to a new school while he is hot.
Some chimp hump/fan was saying that the backup, guy playing next year was better. He was talking my ear off until I basically issued a STFU sometime early in the second half.

Is that true? Anyone?
Another guy at the game kept saying "CMU is a top 25 team no doubt" and then I replied thats a bunch of bull **** and (insert a lot of swear words here)

Look, I am as much a CMU hater as the next guy, but I have to tell you. CMU is a very good football team, and may be in the top 25 at years end. When your only loss is to a pretty good Arizona team at their place 1st game of the year. Not sure they won't make it.

Desert, they have a very talented kid by the name of Ryan Radcliff who will probably take over for Lefevour and not really miss too much. I think if I remember right Radcliff was a pretty coveted kid out of Ohio or something like that, and he is more a thrower than runner. Anyway, seems like he has talent.

CMU has done a real good job recruiting athletes and plugging them in. Depending on which recruiting services and gurus you look at, and I look at a lot of them, they are the Linebacker U of the MAC right now, have gotten some talented offensive lineman, and their running backs Schroeder and Phillips should be good for the next couple years.

I think Butch Jones finds a job somewhere though, so maybe that will screw things up for them

While they are receiving votes right now and are ranked like 31st - I admit they are a good football team, but who have they really beaten this year besides MSU on a lucky bounce? Last year Ball State was BLOWING people out (given they were in the top 15 of the NCAA last year).

CMU plays a half-decent Boston College team in 2 weeks, a win by BC will put CMU out of the Top 25 picture for the season.

True, but they have won at Western and Buffalo, two pretty tough teams in conference and beat a solid MSU on their turf. Lucky or not, its something the Wolverines couldn't do. Once you get by the top 15 or so, there is a lot of parity in college football. We will see what they do against BC, but I wouldn't be surprised if they win that football game.

Lets all send that idiot CMU grad ESPN game commentator (I cant remember his name) emails about how great Butch is. He will start a Butch Jones for coach of the year TV campaign. Maybe someone will offer him a deal to go to a Conference USA school, and the Chips will loose their QB and coach in the same year.
Ray Bentley; isn't that his name? He is an idiot by any name.

CMU might be ranked headed into Chestnut Hill, depending on how we do against the BUGS. Whether we are or not, our performance against BC could definitely push us one way or the other.

"Last year Ball State was BLOWING people out (given they were in the top 15 of the NCAA last year)."

We've blown out everyone we've played at home and beat WMU at home by double figures. The Buffalo game was played under tough conditions (two lightening delays), and the Bulls are nobody's patsy these days. Although with mounting injuries, I could see them sliding a bit in the near future. MSU in E. Lansing would not be an easy win for most teams, IMHO, especially a week after playing a tough PAC 10 team at their place.

With respect to Ball State, I don't recall them having a tough schedule last season. The best team on their slate was probably Navy, and we beat the same IU team they did with our starting QB and three starting OL out. Ball State also didn't have a three-game road trip anywhere. CMU just completed the 1st leg of such a trip (we had TWO like that last season 03-banghead). If we get through BGSU and BC unscathed, we'll have earned a Top 25 ranking.

Yes, its Bentley. Dont see him going to a conference USA school though. Think its gotta be Big East or ACC. Think Maryland or N.C State.
Pride comes before the fall.
He's a hump, cut and paste those words and feed them to him come season end when they collapse. I've done it before. This is nothing new.

MSU wasn't simply a lucky bounce, CMU had 10 more 1st downs and 100 more total yards than MSU.

Ball State was blowing out teams because their Strength of Schedule was 117 out of 120 (not that CMU's is that much better right now).

The BC game should reveal just how good CMU is.
That game was a lucky bounce on an offsides kick, and a flakey penalty on a missed field goal which gave you chimps a second chance, who are you kidding here?

CMU = TOOLS.
That was the luckiest bounce I have seen in my life!
That's so typical of a chimp/norther lower, those people are insufferable.
