I doubt very many would have picked Thompson, but I will have to admit that he was unbelievably explosive. Probably the most exciting player I have ever seen. When he would catch an alley-opp, it would seem like half his body was above the rim. I have never seen anyone just explode up into the air like he did.

I never saw David Thompson play, but I can remember reading of his exploits, and he must have really been a great player. But there are so many great players through the years, that's it's difficult to pick one as the greatest. You can really only compare them with the players of their era. Greatest of this era? Obviously III!. O.K. Maybe second best.
