Wondering what everyone is thinking about the game. We are only 3 point underdogs, so seemingly we have a chance to win this game. As history predicts, if we turn the ball over, have special teams blunders or silly penalties, we will get beat. We simply aren't good enough to overcome those issues.

All that being said, I predict a 24-16 win. Homecoming baby !
If KSU is ever going to get it done, now is the time! It's right there for them. No more excuses and stupid play / coaching. Just Win Baby!
If I remember right, we beat these guys in the 98 to break our 12 game losing streak, the longest running losing streak at the time. Not sure if we beat them since.
Personally, I wish nothing but a beatdown on them for storming into the marching band during pre-game the following year. That one I do remember.

I can promise you most BG fans don't forget that game as much as we would like to. It was one of my worst experiences at Doyt Perry stadium.

After watching the Falcons last week against the Bobkitties, if Kent can throw the ball at all, they have a really good chance to win because the BG pass defense was pathetic among many other problem areas.

Not that its a great excuse, but that was the season after I moved to NC. I hope we can win this weekend, since it will be my first year back for football.
BGSU scored 37 points with 390 yards passing last week against an Ohio U defense that is ranked 4th in pass defense in the the MAC.

BGSU's weaknesses are rushing offense where they rank last in the MAC, and rushing defense where they're next to last. Bowling Green's pass offense is ranked 2nd in the MAC, right behind Toledo. So expect to see the ball in the air a lot on Saturday from BGSU. Last week BGSU QB Tyler Sheehan put the ball up 52 times for 390 yards.

And expect to see Kent State try to use the ground game to establish opportunities through the air. The obvious area of improvement necessary for KSU is in red zone offense efficiency and 3rd down conversion rate where they rank dead last in the MAC in both categories. That has got to improve dramatically in order for the Flashes to achieve success going forward.

Expect a high scoring game with turnovers (as always) playing a big factor.

Prediction: KSU 38 BGSU 35 [a late FG pulls it out for the Golden Flashes in a Homecoming Game thriller on the last drive of the game- hey, we can always dream ... :) ]

I actually saw the lines open up at 6 point dogs and drop to like 5 1/2, and I think that is insulting considering we are the home team and it's homecoming. I think we win this one outright.
Well, Hammer, as I'm sure you probably know, the goal of the book is to get, as much as is possible, an equal amount of money bet on each side. So, the opening line just represented the lack of respect for Kent State football anticipated by college football betting types.
This is a huge swing game for Martin. If they win, it looks like this team has a chance to do what he promised. If they lose, it is hard to get enthusiastic for the games against OU and Western at the end of the month.
Seems like this game could be won on the ground with the recent improvements on the run game. Some passing would also be nice, I'm not sure what kind of pass rush we are up against this week. Looks like Keith is probably going to start again since he's better than Giorgio Morgan so far this season anyways, and we can't seem to stop re-injuring him.
spencer keiths coming out party. Defense keeps up good play. 35-17 kent
The defense looks shoddy.
4:42 left and we botch a punt attempt and then give up a TD on the next play with the tackling of a pee-wee team. It wouldn't be Kent State if we just handled our business and won going away. We have seen this movie before and know how it ends.
Shocker
I have yet to say anything negative about Coach Martin in the forum, but I must now. The use of the clock in the last several minutes was inexcusably awful. His contract should not be renewed any more.
This loss really, REALLY hurts, especially with Temple winning and going to 3-0 in the MAC. The missed FG by Cortez in the 1st half was huge.

Agreed that the clock management in the 4th quarter and the play calling was a bit tentative. The botched snap to the punter setting up the short field, and then the ensuing 45 yard TD pass to Barnes was a back breaker.

If there was 1 guy you had to cover in the 4th quarter it was Barnes. And yet he continued to get open and score.

A real heart breaker for the Golden Flashes. Have to stay positive, re-group and get ready for next week.

I don't want to hear what any of you have to say.
I don't want to hear what the coaches and players have to say.
I don't want to hear what the reporters have to say.
I don't want to hear what I might have to say.

I'm out of here until next week. You win or you don't and the rest is just #@^&$%^# , as flashgrad03 eloquently expressed for all of us.
I havn't watched like Kent State Football for almost 2 years. The difference was this time we won 3.5 quarters of the game.
