I have seen quite a few articles and posts on various sites recently, some by UC fans, comparing us to Boise State. No disrespect to Boise State, they have had a phenominal last few years and always field a very talented and successful team. Other than the fact that both programs are beginning to get the respect they deserve (possibly more than they deserve in Boise's case) I do not know what the similarities are.

UC is in a BCS conference, plays a couple of tough nonconference BCS teams each year, then battles it out in a very competitive Big East Conference. Boise State plays one tough BCS nonconference team each year and then cruises through the dredge of the WAC.

My point is I am thrilled that we are starting to get national attention but in order to truly be respected we need to be mentioned in the same breath with Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, etc., not with Boise State.

I agree, other than being up and coming programs there are not many comparisons. However, why don't we stop worrying about comparisons and just enjoy the ride. I have seen alot of people wanting to compare us to this team or that team. There are even Mousketeers trying to compare us to the Mouseketeer basketball team. I think UC is unique. BK is starting to create a model where other programs will eventually be compared to us. I am looking forward to tomorrow and the rest of the season. I have enjoyed the ride so far and look forward to the rest of this season and beyond.

By the way, listening to the Dan Patrick show this morning. Dan and Brent Musburger had some very complimentary things to say about UC's team and BK.

Because if UC is fortunate enough to be undefeated at the end of the season we would be battling a school like Boise State for a slot in the national title game.
