the fact that we will have a very different squad from the rest of the SBC. We won't just be the biggest team: we will be the biggest by a whole lot. Once conference play begins, teams won't be accustomed to seeing the bulk we will have. Sort of like teams having to defend the Wishbone offense today after facing fancy-dan passing attacks week after week. They just are not used to defending it.
Sounds like we'll see a lot of pressing offenses and fast breaks. If I were facing a team with bulk, I'd try to run 'em ragged.

I don't think you'll see more than one guy like that in the lineup at a time if we're facing a team that runs. Bozeman, III, Garcia-Mendoza and Courtney Jackson will be able to run with most, so I don't see a lot of times when we'll have two really big guys on the floor at the same time, except in certain circumstances. But we'll have a lot of fouls to give at the five position. 01-lauramac2
But if we don't use our bulk at more than one position, it won't be an advantage. It'll just be one big bulky guy.
Your 4 and 5 don't usually run, anyway. If your break isn't working with the perimeter guys, the others two probably aren't going to make the difference.

I was thinking more about us playing defense when I said we'll see a lot of pressing and fast breaks.

After all, it's not about scoring more points than other team, its about not letting them score more than you.

"Just win, Baby!"
Yup. We'd rather win with grinderball than lose with offense.

Saturday's football game was a perfect example. Plenty of offense, but no defense. It takes both to win. But if you're going to lose, it is more fun when you score a lot of points.04-cheers

Systems that aren't the norm are usually harder to prepare for. The Princeton was in its early years, until it became more widespread. Very few mid-major teams really have effective bulk up front these days. We have the bulk. It remains to be seen how effective it is.
