...was accomplished under Watson Brown.

LSU, TCU, ownage of Memphis, ECU at home, and Houston overall.

Spin that whydontcha!

Yes... I WENT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Pollyanna Thought Police will be back from the game in a few hours and boy, are you going to be in trouble.
In return we get: defense of Homecoming and pummelling of a Tulane team that's winded and looks like Grandpa.
Yep.

He's known on this board as Zero. Seems kind of lacking in respect to vilify the one coach that's actually allowed our football team to accomplish something in D-1.
Just because we have Coach -1 doesn't make Coach 0 a positive influence. We traded in the coach with the most losses for a coach with no head coaching experience. Did we need to drop HC 0, you betcha. Did we need to replace him with a forced hire from UAT with no experience? Hell no.
I was saying all of this stuff 2 years ago, I get nothing but negative rep......

It's all about style and timing.
Forgot something: 3-1 vs Troy in D1A.

Everyone feel free to add to this as you like...
OK. A few I witnessed with my very own eyes during the Days of Zero:

Players thrown out of class on Thursday for cheating, starting on Saturday.

Players with a 0.00 GPA, still starting.

Underage players drunk in public watching the CUSA basketball tourney.

Teetotaling players with 4.0 GPAs who assist the youth minister in their church are, without a doubt, fine citizens.

If they can't play football though, why would I want to go and watch them try?
So, you want Watson back?

That he was coach for 13 of our 15.25 years as a D1 school might have had something to do with that.

Just sayin'.

No, but it would be an improvement...
Yeah, he's really setting the world on fire in Cookeville.

Look, I don't have any answers on Callaway. I wanted to believe. Hell, I still want to believe, but I don't have any answers.

Watson talk is crazy talk, though. We could run you out there and lose every game 100-0 and Watson would not be an improvement.

The wife and I do have a saying: "I could have done that".

I can fail at tackling. I can fumble. My wife can gain zero yards/carry. I can get paid 6 to coach a losing football team. Show me something I can't do... That's what I came to see!
If NC doesn't make it next year, there will be several decent candidates for the uab job with state connections who HAVE BEEN successful head coaches, already have plenty of $$$$$, and would likely jump at a fresh start in FBS at a place where the expectations are not so overwhelming...TT, ToB, TeB.
We called him Clown. We called him Turd. We called him Zero. We Suessed him ("In this town, we have a clown. Our clown is Watson Brown."). We caroled him ("We won't watch them play, 'til he goes away, talkin' like a pissed-off Blazer fan.").

And we were right.

Callaway does not make Watson look good. NOTHING can make Watson look good.

The bones of Ears Whitworth might be a better coaching choice than Callaway, but that still doesn't unsuck Watson.

When you combine condoning such conduct with the shining example of "Losing Coach" that was Watson Brown, you don't have much left to be proud of. It's not like we were Memphis, shady on our way to wins.

I'd settle for a team full of guys who go to class, make honest C's, and win for UAB without embarrassing us. That's a base minimum expectation. It would also be a damn sight better than a couple of other teams in this state do, which is why I'm proud to be a UAB fan..
