I think they're just hoping that it gives Rodgers time to find a crease the longer it drags out. I'm surprised by it too because the quick hits were hurting UC bad. It becomes less effective when you don't have a vertical passing game though, which has been illustrated by OSU today.
UC just needs to run out the clock.

i'll say this. i was wrong. For the first two games the Offense was white hot and so there was uncertainty over how good the team was defensively. i figured that in order to win this game the Bearcats offense would once again have to catch fire and offer cover to the defense. Allow the defense lattitude to really pin their ears back and get after the QB. The defense was crucial in this game. Stepped up big and played at a championship level imo. Crucial stops, crucial holds. They played extremely big today.
defense played very well. first drive of second half was really only bad thing. held to field goals and made big stops. lots of pressure on qb today. stepped up when we needed too!
Spot on Eroc. D definitely will have won the game.
I think the overall speed on Defense really surprises some teams.
Oregon State did a good job on Gilyard.
