Tentatively I'm thinking on a couple nights over in a casino in Tunica, but...

>The Game Time still looks "TBA" on both ours and their websites.

>Mapquest has two route choices from Tunica to Oxford: up and over via HWY 304 and just down and over via HWY 4 to Senatobia (both go the obvious Interstate and US 278 from there). The 304 route is about 19 miles further but the same time as HWY 4 which is, I think I remember from past experience 2 lane through cotton fields.

>Not surprisingly I haven't received our tickets yet which were ordered at the time I got the season ticket renewal.

So... Questions:

1) Anyone know when I might expect them to annouce the gametime?

2) For those familiar with Rural NW Mississippi between Tunica and Oxford, which route should I take? Highway 4 or 304? I'm inclined to go the shorter distance but Mapquest assures me it will take the same amount of time. And do I hate poking along...

3) Anyone with a contact in our ticket department know when, roughly, we should expect to get our tickets in the mail?

Thanks in advance to anyone who might can assist with the above.

I'm hearing it will be a 1:00 kickoff.
I know that area all too well.

Your fastest route is neither 4 or 304 which are two lane roads. Highway 4 doglegs and takes you to the town of Tunica which is still 15 miles south of the Casinos.

Your best route will be to take Highway 6 west out of Oxford to Interstate 55. Go north on I-55 and just north of Hernando, there is an Interstate quality road (It will eventually be I-22) that goes from Hernando to the Casinos.
Away tickets cant be sent out until UAB recieves them from the host school ( which , Ive heard, isnt always done in a timely manner). Id expect them to be availible within a couple of weeks of the game, and you can pick them up at the ticket office if you catch them before they put em in the mail to you. Call 975-UAB1 for specific info from the ticket office folks
The game will be on TV, as is every home game played by an SEC school. The question is which of the SEC's sports deals picks it up. They have until noon Tuesday the week of the game to make that decision.

Thanks for the help, MB. Do you mean what Google Maps is calling "Scenic 304" (the E-W road below 304/I-69 which goes through Endora)?

I checked Google Maps and it is I-69 on Google Maps. I said I-22 earlier, but I meant I-69. It is clearly marked on Google maps just north of Hernando, MS running from I-55 to Highway 61.

The casinos are north of the town of Tunica, and this road dumps you off right at them almost. It is clearly marked at I-55 with a sign that says "Casinos next exit"
Cool. Thanks!
I'd like to get on I-69 tonight.
I had to take some students to a journalism conference in Oxford a couple of years ago. When they saw the signs for I-69, I was forced to stop the van. A number of lewd photos were taken by the students in front of the I-69 signs.
