it to UALR. So two of our Philly kids we signed, Curtis Jackson and Spuriel haven't made it here. We don't know why Curtis left. I was talking with one of our coaches last year, and was speculating on who was and wasn't coming back, and I suggested that Curtis might not be back, and was told emphatically that there was no question he'd be back. "Wrong". It must have been something other than basketball ability that caused him to leave. So that's two down, and one still here, Nick Cicic. I hope Nick likes it here and stays for his entire career, but when you sign kids who are so far from home, you are always taking a chance he will leave for one reason or another. I'm told Nick is a very funny (good sense of humor) young man, and humor always helps in tough situations. Hang in there Nick. There are a lot of folks rooting for you.01-lauramac2

The coach with Philadelphia ties hasn't produced anything of significant value yet. I believe UALR need to be taking some chances on a few borderline kids(if they're really good), but what good does it do to sign players and they never show.

I believe that Coach Terry was signed for his ability to help us recruit talent in the Philly area. It's a little early to make a judgement and hopefully his contacts will pay off at some point. I guess that's the only way we could get some kids with good talent, but who the big boys are laying off of because of their scholastic deficiencies. But our luck hasn't been very good in that area so far. But it only takes one or two that do make it that are really good players, so what the heck. If we don't take a chance, we don't have a chance. Assuming this staff is around for another three or four seasons, Coach Terry will have a few more years to prove his worth. Obviously if he doesn't, he'll be looking for new employment. As does any coach who doesn't match the expectations of his bosses.04-cheers

I assume that all will be around. I believe you have said that "Shields can stay as long as he wants, and will leave on his terms." Sounds like a lifetime contract to me. If he's still around in three or four years, and still hasn't won a SBC tournament, in all those years, both Chris Peterson and the chancellor need to be gone too. That will tell me pretty plain that they don't give a hoot in hell about having a good program here. And I will be gone.
Those divisional banners sure look good though.

Yes they do. Banners hanging from the rafters make it look like you've been good at something. I wonder when they'll get the banner for the National Championship we won in Bass Fishing? I wonder if they got rings?
They did. It even sings! Don't know about rings.

Are you say "they did get rings?" If so, good for them.
