Wonder where he has ended up, and if he found a place to go to school and play this year. He was a nice young man, and it's sad he didn't get to come back, but I don't know the circumstances. Could have been his own choice, although I doubt that. Very few kids leave of their own volition. At least that's been my experience through the years. Tough business.04-cheers

Where did Steven Moore end up? I seem to remember hearing it somewhere, but can't remember what school.

Curtis Jackson is at Midland Junior College- at least, that's what I heard. Stevie ended up at a DII school - maybe San Angelo State- I can't recall for sure.

I was close: Looks like Angelo State will have a heck of team with transfers from UALR, Utah State, and ORU. I would bet Stevee ends up in the NCAA tournament this season.

Rike announces new Rams

Release: 08/26/2009

Fred Rike is ready to start his fourth year as head coach of the Rams.
Angelo State men's basketball coach Fred Rike has announced the addition of six new players to his roster for the 2009-10 campaign.

"We are going to be more athletic than ASU teams in the past," Rike said. "These six newcomers along with our seven returning players will make us a conference contender this year and help us be more competitive on a national level."

Of Rike's six transfers, two are seniors, three are junior and one is a sophomore.

Steven Moore, a 6'0", 180-pound point guard, joins the Rams after spending three seasons at Arkansas-Little Rock. A native of Little Rock, Ark., Moore led the Trojans in scoring last season with 13.6 points per game, while shooting 45 percent from the field and 38 percent from three-point range. Moore added better than three assists per game as a junior at UALR.

Stavon Williams, a 6'4", 185-pound guard, becomes a Ram after serving as the sixth-man at Utah State last season. Last year, the Minneapolis, Minn., native averaged six points and better than a rebound per game as a junior for the Aggies. Prior to his one season at Utah State, Williams played two seasons at San Jacinto College.

Kamarachi "Ugo" Onyirioha, a 6'8", 240-pound forward, spent the last season at Oral Roberts and appeared in 10 games as a sophomore for the Eagles. Prior to his season at ORU, the Owerri, Nigeria, native played one season at Redlands Community College (Okla.), shooting 53 percent from the field.

LaMarshall Corbett, a 6'3", 170-pound guard, comes to ASU after spending the past two seasons in the backcourt at Kilgore College. Corbett, a native of Raleigh, N.C., averaged 16 points and three rebounds per game as a sophomore for the Rangers.

Chris Ellis, a 6'6", 190-pound guard, played two seasons at Temple College before becoming a Ram. As a sophomore for the Leopards, the Killeen native averaged 13.5 points and pulled downed six rebounds per game.

LaDonn Huckaby, a 6'8", 195-pound guard/forward, also comes to ASU from Temple, playing one season for the Leopards. As a freshman for Temple in 2007-08, the Waco native averaged 14 points and four rebounds per outing.

The six newcomers give the Rams 13 players for the upcoming season. Returning players are seniors Johnny Barnes (6'6", 230, F, Astoria, N.Y.), Shavar Burch (6'6", 200, F, New York, N.Y.), Roger Johnson (6'3", 190, G, West Helena, Ark.), Derrick Webster (6'3", 175, G, Montgomery, Ala.) and Antwon Williams (6'6", 225, F, Pflugerville), junior Trey Mays (5'10", 175, G, Houston) and sophomore Joey Lenox 6'3", 180, G, Liberty Hill).

The Rams went 20-8 last season and advanced to the NCAA Division II National Tournament for the first time since 2001.

Curtis Jackson is on the roster of the Midland Junior College Chaps, last year's national runner-up. Marlon L. came from there, so you would think there might be some kind of connection to UALR, but they have a brand new head coach so who knows. Their arena seats 5500 and looks very much like the Stephens Center. Pretty nice for a junior college.
