Don't know how many of you watched the HBO series Hard Knocks on the Bengals training camp this year, but Gus Parrish was featured quite a bit throughout, especially because the Bengals #1 pick--the OL from Alabama--was a hold-out for so long. Lots of shots of Gus in his KSU shirts etc.

Unfortunately, Gus was placed on waivers after the last exhibition game. One tough play where he got beat and his defender forced a QB fumble got shown over and over.

He clearly needs more experience and confidence, but I'm sure it was a good learning experience for him, and he will regroup and get another chance.

Watched him in great detail last year because he was being touted. Many college defensive players were beating him at will. No disrespect, but what he needs is quicker feet. This probably will not come naturally. I am sorry for this opinion, and it is only an opinion. Other than that, he is a great young man and I wish him well.
He was mentioned on all the draft boards as a sleeper etc... and then as the season went on he just faded, especially after the combine where he was outlifted by a kicker. I was hoping for better for the young man, hopefully he hits the gym and hits it hard and works toward the goal of making a roster. Hopefully somebody can get him on a practice squad and work with him.
