I went to the CMU vs. UofA football game since i recently moved to AZ(got a teaching job in Chandler). I was pretty impressed by the defense of Central, however, I don't know how good the Arizona offense is so it is hard to really tell. Matt Scott had his first career start for AZ and although he made some great runs, he wasn't a great passer. The best player on AZ's offense was out, so saying CMU's defense looked great may not be accurate. That being said the offense for CMU looked awful, it wasn't until the very last drive of the half that CMU got it's first first down. Usually when you watch LeFevour if he gets pressured he is able to take it out of the pocket and up field. The Arizona defense was simply to athletic for that and chased him backwards and to the sidelines. His running aspect was simply taken out of the game.

As for Antonio Brown, he usually scares me whenever he touches the ball on kick returns. However, he looked nervous and muffed two or three kick offs and fumbled one of them right to an AZ player.

I do expect CMU to bounce back and have a better offense performance against MSU. I do also think the defensive performance will not be as strong against a better offense team in MSU.

Also if anyone lives in the Valley and wants to catch a game let me know. Indiana on Saturday?

This kinda sounds familiar...
Frankly, I'll be shocked if the Chimp offense is better against MSU. The Spartans are going to be excellent this year.

Loved your recap of the game, SprauTower. Thanks!
The Planet A' Chandler.....Nice place, lived in an apartment at Kyrene and Chandler Blvd for a year many years ago. Go to TeakWoods, have some wings and beer for me. 03-thumbsup
Oh I've been to TeakWoods on Ray, good place. Good selection of beer and food, and a great place to catch a game.

By the way, when do the temperatures start to get comfortable? this is pretty awful.
LOL! I used to joke, that it's October 8th. THAT DAY!! Only half kidding, usually (only ONE YEAR out of twelve this didn't happen), it would stay hot, like triple digit hot during the day (99 maybe the low high) and then all of a sudden a front would move through early in October, the next day it would only go up to 80 and that was IT until March. Weird that way, but September is killer because of growing up where we did you'd expect it to start cooling off after Labor Day, but it doesn't happen and you get punchy.

Take in hikes in Payson, Flag, Sedona and others, you know the drill, because that's the only escape. Also, a quick drive up to Cave Creek helps around now because it cools off out/up there at night, more like Arizona and less of the concrete jungle of Phoenix. Get away often and get your head clear, simmer the boiling in your brain.

Good luck, make it a few years there and your blood thins out, I hope. Some never leave, while others like me, never get used to it and leave.

Congrats on the new gig, make it work!!

Hey, now that I'm gone, we should switch ID's!!
Well I will never have to scrape my car windshield again that's a plus. I have been to the usual spots like Sedona (maybe most beautiful place i've ever been), Verde Valley, Grand Canyon, Tucson (hiked Sabino Canyon). Haven't been to Payson, Prescott, or Williams yet. My girlfriend grew up in Tucson, was a former gymnast on WMU's team where I met her. Now she is in Flagstaff at NAU for physical therapy. I love Flagstaff, great summer weather (elevation is about 7,000 feet). I go there often to get away.
On your way to Flag next time (or your way back), take the back way through Payson and stop and hike through the natural bridge park. Great hike and scenery. I agree about Sedona, they used to have a jazz festival there, Jazz on the Rocks if I remember correctly, worth going even if you don't like the music. Also used to take my Jeep up 17 and get off north of Sedona and drive down the back way where all the pink jeeps went, awesome scenery there, looking down into Oak Creek Canyon.

Sounds like you'll have time to get acclimated, great place and I agree about Flag, nice place to visit and get away too from the valley. That Salt River drive up 60 is something to behold after a rain storm and they open up the damns, it ROARS.
